Neil was joined by Alison McGovern, Paul Cope and once he’d finished queuing for cheap biscuits, Steve Graves as they looked back at the famous 2-0 victory over Hull and towards the FA Cup tie against Oldham.

People are forgetting Glenn Johnson was awful in the entire 2nd half of last season aswell, as the rest of the team improved.
Why people always give him a pass, and slate Enrique (who was only really poor at the very start of last season) is beyond me. Favouritism I suppose.
The Glen Johnson one is odd. I thought he was poor at the back against Hull but slightly better going forward. I liken him to my wife as in can’t live with him but can’t live without him. The team feels compromised without him but of late he’s been wank.
I’ve no idea what’s wrong with him but in my kids team I’ve got some brilliant players who occasionally look like their minds are elsewhere and they haven’t turned up, so to speak. When I ask what’s wrong it turns out they’ve been on the x box till 3 in the morning. They’re like zombies. A bit like Johnson. Anyone know if Johnson has an x box, haha.
I disagree. A number of us were discussing Aapas’ performance against Hull which while uninspiring was at least functional Think about how our performance dropped when he was subbed. He was able to drop into a team that knows its shape and what it is about; he played an advanced Joe Allen role, it was all about positioning and harrying and he did that well. He’s limited but he did a job Still, I’m not sure what Aspas and Alberto bring to the current squad, let’s hope they can kick on and prove their value as the season progresses, Alberto looks good, but as you say, he’s a bit rolls royce for games against more physical teams.
