RED TOUCH MEDIA AND THE ANFIELD WRAP: IN OUR LIVERPOOL HOME
THE ANFIELD WRAP is to share a new Liverpool waterfront home with Red Touch Media as part of an exciting link-up with the hi-tech media company.
TAW – which now incorporates a podcast, radio show, website and magazine app – will move into their city centre office in the Port Of Liverpool building later this year.
The move, which has seen Red Touch Media acquire a stake in TAW, will allow podcasts, interviews and one-off specials to be recorded from a custom-built studio overlooking the River Mersey.
The TAW digital magazine and app will also continue to grow with plans to release the free multimedia publication on a monthly basis.
Red Touch Media, whose software is used by firms including Sony, Paramount and NBC, is hoping to take on 12 Liverpool-based staff by the end of the year, rising to almost 30 by the end of 2014. For more information about jobs go to: http://redtouchmedia.com/jobs
The Anfield Wrap was launched shortly before the kick off of the 2011-12 season. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength, with the award-winning podcast becoming a regular in the top ten of the UK Sports podcast chart, boasting over 200,000 downloads a month.
The multimedia app and magazine has also topped the iPad app charts, while TAW live shows have proved a big success in Ireland, the USA and Australia.
Anfield Wrap co-founder Andy Heaton said: “We’re delighted to announce the link up with Red Touch Media and we’re really looking forward to moving into our own studio on the banks of the Mersey.
“Chairman and chief executive of Red Touch Media, Wayne Scholes, is a massive Red and he understands the culture and passion of the Liverpool fanbase.
“We’ve had dozens of other offers to work with companies but it was important for us that if we did that, it was with an organisation that understood the city, the club and the supporters. With Red Touch Media we’ve got that.”
Wayne Scholes said: “We are very excited to partner with The Anfield Wrap. As a fan and follower, I enjoy listening and reading the opinions from their contributors, and I’m thrilled that Red Touch Media gets to help expand their reach. We chose Liverpool as our base in the UK because we believe in the city and are excited to contribute to their rich culture in sports, music, media, and style.”
Congratulations one and all, and thanks for all the support you’ve given us by playing our music too!
Fantastic news TAW and RTM. See you all soon.

Wayne Scholes? Doesn’t sound like a Red! Change his name to Kenny Fowler or something and all will be well.
