I watched the spurs game again and the reason we lost control of the game after 25 mins, Stevies legs had gone. We could not press and were very easy to pass through ( lucky spurs have no class striker). This is a big concern as athletes in PL teams target. I love the thought of let the opposition worry about us but with our poor defensive structure without the ball it’s an accident waiting to happen. We need the extra legs in midfield to do his running for us to function properly, I can hear people saying it was a great win and I’m negative. I remember the Everton game against Soton and their midfield out worked and then had the quality to create lots of chances, should of easily beaten them. I hope BR and the boys don’t believe all the press hype.
I like many fans find myself smiling when Coutinino plays, the boys an artist. Hope BR picks the right team for a tricky game. YNWA
Brendan is a shyster;he tries this and that to perpetuate a myth that he’s some kind of saviour! He’s got an ego as big as a house but he’s willing to compromise to stay where he is.
He slagged off the young players then put his arm around Sterling;the same player he threw on every week to try and get him out of trouble.Somebody obviously had a word with him.
We got stuffed against Spurs but he couldn’t see the foolishness of trying to play a 4 man forward line and leaving nothing in midfield against a powerful Spurs team .We got a lucky break!
We’ve got some fantastic players here. But it’s clear that that they’re not connecting with him.And neither am I!
God your a tedious twat.
Liverpool fans eh? best in the world…
Truth Hurts.
I’ve tried to give Rodgers the benefit of the doubt. I tried to remain positive, even when I saw how bad he was early on. I gave him until then end of January before I truly made up my mind. Then a few more months. Now, with a future of no European football next season I can honestly only repeat what I’ve been thinking all season: Rodgers will not take us anywhere. That’s no offence to him. He is what he is, a mid-table manager, and he has delivered on that. Fair enough. I blame FSG. What were they thinking? Who is advising them? Stevie Wonder? Where do they get their football advice from? Disney Land?
I agree with the previous post, we were lucky against Spurs. I’d go so far as to say we have been lucky in several matches which have only papered over the obvious (to some of us) cracks…… So I’m gonna say it:
Time to get rid of Rodgers.
What? You wanna wait another two years just to see if by some fecking miracle Rodgers turns out to be some sort of genius? Then you’re as blind and foolish as FSG.
What? We don’t wanna be like Chelski? Well that’s not even an argument. I would not choose to be like them in any shape or fashion, but they have won a shit load of silverware with most of the best managers in the world. So rather Chelsea than Villa. And that’s all we are, ‘The New Villa’.
So yes, I’d like to see the back of Rodgers. I don’t see the point of keeping him when clearly he is not up to the job. It’s so obvious, and has been for a long time. We’ve been deluding ourselves into thinking he’s the second coming. Or deluding ourselves into thinking ‘he’s crap but we’re LFC so we’ll give him three years just to keep face in the media’. Why? He should never have gotten the job. Again, no offence to him, but he hasn’t got the C.V for a club like LFC. O.k we’ll get called a few things in the media, so what – we get called worse! He should go, if only to be fair to Rafa, Hodgson and Kenny. If they got the ‘spanish fiddler’, so by the same rules Rodger’s should go.
What? Who would I have instead? Well based on FSG’s obvious criteria for LFC manager, my milkman might as well apply, he talks a good game.
Have a word with the Kev about using “you know” on air. This podcast would be about ten minutes shorter if the pointless phrase was not used, more interesting content could have been covered. It also seems to be infectious, without him on, it is not used, with him there, others start adding it.
