Good show, i enjoyed the recruitment discussion and i would say to the lads the phrase Value for money is principal in all deals, both in and out of the club.
Were looking for consistency first and foremost.
I could give you all manner of examples from both codes of rugby where bad recruitment destroyed a sides season before it even began. Admittedly rugby has to contend with a salary cap but the lessons are the same when dealing with finding staff who will stay fit, perform well, fit into the side and style of play, aren’t going to cost a bomb and in Liverpools case hopefully score goals.
I’m not concerned if it means bringing in 1 or 2 lads who are pushing 30 or even over 30. Liverpool need to make sure also that they bring in players who are mentally strong enough to play and perform for one of the biggest sides in Europe. One of the issues that seriously concerns me is that we and plenty of other sides in the Prem look at the pitch first and the mind, well not at all in many respects.

The real prize in football is future revenue from World TV rights via the internet. FSG will be going nowhere until. This is what they are in it for.
Bit disappointed with this edition – seemed to be some unneeded negativity. It was also even more chaotic than usual – i think the drink and nibbles were a distraction.
I still think the City Talk episode is better because there are fewer participants and the listener can identify the contributors more easily.
But the Monday Wrap is enjoyable as the conversation is more relaxed as is the language.
good show, i enjoyed it. i’d like to see you all talk about potential players you think would improve the team, players we could actually get, obviously not saying ridiculous things like Messi or Iniesta, but talk about who you think we could actually get and who would improve the team.
How come Andy Heaton always sounds so croaky? Is he smoking 60 Malboro tabs a day?
More Gutmann. More Heaton. More booze.
