Our first recording from Rome is our look ahead to the game against Roma in the Stadio Olympico hosted by John Gibbons.
With Liverpool close but not certain of their place in the Champions League final, they need one more big push but that push comes without many options, key players and now their assistant manager. How will Liverpool be feeling before this contest? Ben Johnson discusses all this with John.
And what about the stuff around the contest? For Josh Sexton this is his generation’s turn at watching Liverpudlian glory on the world stage. How does that feel? How is the excitement building?
There is more too – the city of Rome welcomes Liverpool but knows there are many issues which will trouble Liverpool and the wider world. Angelo Consoli joins us to discuss these matters and everything else arising.
It’s our first show from the Eternal City but not the last. To enjoy all build up to Liverpool’s quest to win a sixth European Cup title click here to subscribe.
That was great lads, thanks.
I’m getting really excited now – keep us posted, stay safe and be lucky.
Can you put up a picture of the poster for Sean Cox please?

I like the Italian guy saying Roma actually did pretty well in Liverpool. If he thinks that, and they still lost 5-2, good luck to him.
The most stereotypical Italian accent ever
Convinced that is just Johno putting on an accent
Angelo Consoli is real, I can assure you of that. I led an official City delegation to Rome for the 1984 final. Angelo hosted our 4 day visit where we visited numerous local Roma Supporters Clubs and attended various functions promoting respect and friendship between the two sets of supporters.
Angelo got in touch at the weekend in an effort to do something positive again in the light of last week’s violence. In particular he was keen to do something for Sean Cox. We put him in touch with Gareth and here we are.
Angelo is a really, good, generous guy who will do everything that he can again to help and promote good relations and minimise the potential for violence.
Is right Angelo, good on you mate.
“You won the cup, you buggers!” haha. Love this guy.
Did he mike Campbell? ?? Or mark think if Mike he’s on about my Grand possibly
Absolutely superb! Your interaction with Angelo should make the national news in both countries. Angelo spoke brilliantly; just brilliantly. I salute you all for this kind of work. Hats off to you!
Great show guys. In fact all of these Rome shows have been awesome. Angelo was fantastic. Up the reds!
Great show. Angelo is brilliant – that’s what European aways are all about. Enjoy every minute lads.
