TAW contributors with talking points straight from the ground after Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Watford.

Divock Origi

Hope Origi doesn’t start the next game, whether it’s Sturridge or Lallana that comes in for him. Thought he could be an option for us against grocks but he looks lost centrally and ruins a lot of the good that we do. @jsexton24

Origi isn’t playing well but we could do with adapting a bit. The one tactic fits all thing isn’t a good idea. @PhilBlundell

Daniel Sturridge

Sturridge was great when he came on. It’s an absolute pisser that you can’t rely on him to be at least on the bench every week. @Benjanijohnson

Sturridge looked really sharp in that little cameo — unlucky not to score, there. And drawing and winning the foul when he did was really intelligent — loved him for that; reckon most would still try to force the second — bit of nous at the right time, that. @robbohuyton

Is right, Robbo. Was boss, that. Killed the game. Does boss for the chance as well. @Benjanijohnson

Adam Lallana

If Lallana could play for as long as he did he should have started. He’s absolutely brilliant and we’ve missed him more than anyone seems to realise. Really stepped it up a level this year. @PhilBlundell

Lallana showed just how much we missed him tonight, I thought. So important to all the good things we do. @paul7cope

True, that. His first touch is brilliant and gives him that moment to get his head up and get us on the front foot. So unlucky with that shot — what a goal that would have been. @robbohuyton

Lucas Leiva

Lucas’s dive was the highlight of his career. If he’d kicked Cleverly then, going by the weekend, he’d get a pen. @PhilBlundell

Simon Mignolet

Mignolet was great. Matip and Lovren were great. @Benjanijohnson

Mignolet terrific. Some of those claims were great. Looks so confident at the moment! @johngibbonsblog

Nathaniel Clyne

I’m forming a new right-back bandwagon. Can’t be arsed watching him run in a straight line and getting a corner or giving them a goal-kick any more. @PhilBlundell

Agree, dead frustrating watching him try and build attacks, too predictable, think Trent can really stake a claim with more game time next season. @jsexton24

Was discussing this before the game. I’m equally frustrated with him but think we might have to at least give him some leeway for having played basically every game. He must be goosed. @paul7cope

The Centre-Halves

Lovren crossing for Matip in stoppage time was a bit mad, wasn’t it? @johngibbonsblog

Five minutes after Matip was one-on-one with Gomes. @PhilBlundell

Emre Can

Big Emre was absolutely made up on the box, there — boss, that. Made up he said it was the best goal he’s ever scored as well instead of trotting out all the usual about ‘the most important thing is the team and the three points’. If you score that goal I reckon you’re allowed a bit of self-satisfaction (in every sense of the phrase…). @robbohuyton

The Conclusion

Huge to get over the line once again, there. Need that sort of luck late on to see out games like that and finish up the table. @jsexton24

One of my favourites of the season, that. Not the best in quality but the grit we showed was great. Brilliant defensive organisation and they barely went in our box. Can’t see how United get above us now, to be honest. Need to jib thinking about fourth, should be all about third. @PhilBlundell

Nervy end, that! Great weekend, though. Who knew we were turning into 1-0 away specialists! @johngibbonsblog
