BOSS that.
Funny how you know a game is likely to pan out after 10 minutes, isn’t it?
Simon Mignolet: 8
Massive stop one v one when it mattered, needs to keep backing himself.
Nathaniel Clyne: 7
Back to his overlapping best, looked far more dangerous than of late, no idea why, maybe it’s getting the ball a bit earlier?
Mick Clarke is now arguing that he should be an eight, but he knows fuck all.
Lucas Leiva: 8
Had my kecks off tonight, groaned when he was named in the 11, didn’t put a foot wrong and is spending the next week sending Harry Kane to Farmfoods on errands.
Joel Matip: 7.5
Been shaky as fuck since his return, and understandably so, but looked like a Rolls Royce today.
James Milner: 7
Boss when he’s not the outlet, just kept it ticking and stretched the line when needed, brilliant in the 45-60 minute period when Spurs tried to push on.
Georginio Wijnaldum: 8
DER, DER, DER DER DER DER, GINI WIJNALDUM
Jordan Henderson: 9
Extra point for managing the game like a boss in the face of that Wythenshawe cunt who was desperate for a spectacle.
Measure of his impact was the collective teeth sucking when it looked like he’d picked up a bad knock.
Seemed invigorated by the challenges of Dele Ali.
Adam Lallana: 8
Hope springs eternal, effort never in doubt but his confidence in his own decision making back to something we’ve become used to. Tenacious.
Roberto Firmino: 8.5
I’d have dropped him, what do I know?
Electric tonight.
Philippe Coutinho: 8
Just everything. The speed of thought, mind and execution that we’ve missed was back with a bang. Something to build on, just needs a goal to top it off.
Sadio Mane: 10
Nearly broke his own hat-trick record. Fucking hell.
What a performance. Any team that offers even the nearest hint of space in behind, he’s in his element.
Yes, lad.
SUBS
Ragnar Klavan: 7
Expected him to start, shored it up when Lucas had done himself in and didn’t put a foot wrong.
Emre Can: 6
Came on and did a bit.
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 10
Boss, in’ee?

Ponch… 10 for not parking the bus.
Ref… 0 for being crap. 3 handballs against them, no whistle, same thing happens with one of our players… free kick.
Lovely to see the boys flying again!!! Could have been 5 within the first 30!
If Anthony Taylor is a Premier League ref, I can’t imagine what they must be like in League Two. When Lucas plays like he did tonight, I can’t help but wonder what he would have been like if moved to CB a bit earlier. If we could get another Mane type player into the mix for next season …
Agree with the ratings. Klopp gets an 8 for his bit.
Great response from the team and Jurgen.
Will stay away from footie and related stuff until the next match.
I hope the team recovers from all injuries and get rest with Leicester up next.
Up the Resurgent Reds!
Boss your comment about Firminho after that piece of yours – respect!
Btw, doesn’t Can deserve at least to be mentioned?
See the sub section…
Gini was our best midfielder for me (though it was tight, they were all superb). Strong, tenacious and with a disguised final pass to boot: and what a pass! Great technique on show tonight: the complete midfield performance from all our lads.
there is no way Henderson get a 9 if gini only gets an 8
I love it when a player as a thing. Y’know when they do their thing on a football pitch, and everyone knows they’re going to it, including the opposition. They try to prevent the inevitable but in the end must helplessly succumb to the the unstoppable ‘thing’.
Coutinho has it with that right footed curler from the corner of the box. Don’t show him onto that foot… not there… too late.
Henderson’s beginning to have a thing. That crossfield ball he sends back in, over the fullbacks head. I think it lead to another chance today. Keep doing your thing Jordan.
Mane’s run faster than everyone else and then stick it in the goal thing is quite good too.
Just, UP THE FUCKING REDS !!!!
The team is back! So proud of all of them.
Great to get home smiling. Still cannot understand why Can had kept Wijnaldum out until today which proved the point I and many others have been making
Well that was ace, forgot what it’s like to enjoy football again! Important going into a long break with a big win behind us. WTRWWAW
The nice thing about this game was that there were no passengers, it was a genuine all-round team effort. No-one wanted to be the weak link, everyone kept switched on throughout, especially in defence. The question is whether we can keep this up against the likes of Leicester and Burnley.
Love Phil C but I think 8 is generous, he’s getting there but not there quite yet.
Wijnaldum immense, I’d have given him a 9 and dished out a fair few 8’s… (Mane, Henderson, Firmino, Lucas)
High ratings all around and fully deserved. We were at our high-intensity, snarling best. Full of aggression and intent from the first whistle. Spurs fancy themselves as hard-nuts but our Reds bullied them tactically and physically. Wijnaldum outmuscled Wanyama at one point and our trio in the middle absolutely dominated Wanyama and Dembele. Henderson was constantly in the ref’s ear and fronting out Wanyama and Alli. We weren’t taking any shit on Saturday and it really showed.
All the klopp out, FSG out boring moaners must have been sat in their mums basement on Saturday night, waking furiously and really pissed off we’d won.
Garth Crooks manages to shoe horn 2 Chelsea players into his team of the week and only Mane gets the nod from the reds. He’s a mug liverpool hater
Everyone’s getting back on to the same page, and they played beautiful, team football against Spurs.
Aggressiveness going forward. In-out play. Diagonal passes. Not crossing blindly into the box with no one there. All of the things people have been begging to see brought back were there.
Maybe a bit too generous to Millie, Phil, and Bobby. Work effort was there, but Milner and Firmino really look exhausted out there. Next weekend’s break can’t come soon enough for those two. Hope it recharges them in time for Leicester.
