Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock, now at Wigan Athletic, is joined by Gareth Roberts and Paul Cope in the return of The Pro View.
With Liverpool’s season seemingly in free fall, Gareth and Paul ask Stephen how it feels in the dressing room when results aren’t going your way. How do the players turn it around? How influential is the manager?
We also discuss momentum, confidence and state of mind. How important are all of those factors on achieving results?
There is also a discussion around the influence of fans on matches, and the importance of the cup competitions.
Loved listening to Warnocks perspective, so so good had me really locked in, nice 1 Lads
Great podcast! Thank you! Warnock gave a perfect perspective on how football is measured by fine lines.
Really enjoyed that – interesting listening to how a professional thinks versus us supporters – Stephen Warnock was very honest and and did not resort to cliche after cliche
Agree with the previous comments, it’s good to listen to a sensible insightful pro when the mainstream feed us the moronic Savage, the dull Owen and the Lawro.
Steve’s a great addition to TAW podcasts, really enjoy his point of view.
Having studied sport & exercise psychology it’s great to hear Stephen praising the impact it has had on him. I still think it’s undervalued though, as he acknowledged some professionals just don’t believe in it.
Splendid show. Was great listening to Mr Warnock’s view from the professional’s perspective, especially what goes on at pitch level in real time, as it were. I found the discussion on hypnosis and mental side of the game most fascinating. I acually listened to this podcast twice. Bravo.
