PRETTY dull that, wasn’t it?

Liverpool got their goal and then created little else. The senior players didn’t really lead the young lads, in fact Harry Wilson and Sheyi Ojo look the most likely once they came on.

Not So Unlucky Lucas

Lucas Leiva scored his first goal for 201 games, the last coming against Steaua Bucharest in 2010. His powerful header from Philippe Coutinho’s corner turned out to be the winning goal.

Ropey Refs…Again

Referee Graham Scott caused quite a stir with some of his first half decision making, particularly his failure to give what looked like a clear penalty for a foul on Daniel Sturridge.

Well In Wilson

Harry Wilson made his debut replacing Coutinho as a substitute, a further show of Jürgen Klopp’s desire to bring through young players. He didn’t do much to disappoint either, he was unlucky not to grab a goal after an error by the Plymouth goalkeeper and showed intent going forward.

Disappointing Divock

Divock Origi had another night to forget. His tame penalty miss rounded off another poor performance from the Belgian, who has struggled to rediscover his form in the latter stages of last season.

Not So Happy New Year

Liverpool’s slender win tonight brought to an end a run of four winless games, stretching back to New Year’s eve when Manchester City visited Anfield.
