A bit of a bonus to get a pod cast on a Sunday
Great set of lads , to use a Neil isum.
I wrote something after the pink podcast about the crowd and how the anxiety of the crowd transmits onto the players, and what effect this may have on Klopp long term.
If anyone hasn’t seen it already have a look on the internet for the panorama documentary about the Liverpool crowd made in 1964, spine tingling stuff and a great illustration of what a crowd can do when a crowd and team are at the peak of there powers .
I know we will probably never get back to those days but we must find a way to remain positive throughout the 90 minutes and give Klopp all we have throughout .If we can find a way we will have a massive advantage and could be that 1% that gets us over the line.
Again lads thanks for putting this together on a Sunday and giving me a break from the x-factor! So much more entertaining.
It’s interesting the lack of love for Firmino. I was working in London at the time we signed him and I remember my boss (an Arsenal fan) amazed that we’d spent £29m on some lad from Hoffenheim. His only frame of reference for Firmino was watching him at a Brasil match at the Emirates. He said he looked wasteful in possession and painfully slow. In his words, Brasil ‘stopped playing’ after Firmino came on. I remembered the same game… Firmino scored the only goal.
He’s very unconventional. He’s not quick, but somehow manages to be everywhere. He’s not a number 9, yet does everything you’d look for in the league’s best number 9s. The more everyone else underestimates him the better for Liverpool.

Good podcast lads.
I’m enjoying the talk moving on from the game to issues surrounding the game within the same podcast. Last week it was beer and this week homophobia. I’ll be honest, the beer talk really annoyed me. Gareth’s suggestion that fans are ‘normal people’ and shouldn’t be tainted by generic smears came across as naive. He made the statement that if someone gets out of hand, well we have laws to regulate and stop that. I thought at the time that we have laws to stop homophobic and race crimes but I guess Gareth doesn’t encounter this problem were he sits. Step forward a week and I though the conversation on homophobia and the vile language that is casually used in stadiums was brilliant. As soon as this issued is resolved I’m the first to join the beer bandwagon and I’ll even buy a pint for TAW but before then there are less self indulgent issues to tackle.
Getting off my high horse, this does highlight the value of the podcast and what you guys are doing. I’m sure it’s not the intention that I, or anyone else, always agree on a topic but it is great to have such a variety of topic. The recent Mental Health programme should win you guys awards. Brave, powerful, needed saying, and you gave it a platform.
I will say however that I miss the 1-11 run through. I liked the indepth analysis of each player/component that you don’t get from a more nationally focused source. I do sympathise how hard it is to find something to say about Clyne every week other than brilliantly unspectacular or alike but perhaps the middle ground is to debate the MoM and focus on just 3 to 4 names?
I hope all this is taken in the constructive guise that it is meant. Keep up the good work.
