HERE is your tea time round-up of today’s biggest Liverpool FC stories.
Sakho Loan Latest
It’s been the hot topic, with more information coming out during the day. The ECHO’s James Pearce shed some more light on the situation, reporting that Jürgen Klopp is happy with his options in the centre back area, despite most fans still seeing it as a problem area.
Gibbo has done a good piece on Sakho, which went up on the site today, assessing how this latest setback could effect the Frenchman’s future at Anfield. Give that a read here.
Mama Completely Cleared
Busy day for Sakho. Today WADA announced they wouldn’t be appealing UEFA’s decision to clear the defender of taking a banned substance.
Sakho failed a drug test after the second leg of the Reds’ Europa League tie against Manchester United, and as a consequence missed the Europa League final, and the chance to represent his country at the Euros in France this summer.

Lucas Staying
One player who looks set to be staying put is Lucas Leiva. The Brazilian has once again been linked with a move away from Anfield – as seems to be the case every summer since his arrival – but after a move to Galatasaray failed to materialise it seems that Klopp is looking to keep hold of him.
A testimonial just around the corner. Is right.
Burton Build-Up
It’s the start of the Reds’ EFL Cup (or the League Cup) campaign tonight. Klopp’s side travel to the Pirelli Stadium to face Nigel Clough’s Burton Albion.
We’ve been building up to the game on the site, as yesterday I spoke to a Burton Mail reporter for the lowdown – read that here – and Rob Gutmann has done another of his big match previews, rolling back the years to the days of standing only terraces – which you can also read here.
Apart from that, Up The Reds!
Oh what could have been if Sakho hadn’t been a knob last season!
Love that picture of Lucas. Top bloke, made up for him, and for the club as well. Right decision.
