HERE is your tea time round-up of today’s biggest Liverpool FC stories.

The Moreno Debate

Massively divided opinions on this one, it seems. Some people are leaping to his defence – perhaps too much so – whereas some appear to be so against the player that it’s not healthy.

Nevertheless, Jürgen Klopp has said he’s going to persevere with Alberto Moreno – which goes to show that the manager definitely sees something in him. However, it is being reported today that James Milner will start the game against Burnley on Saturday, having returned to fitness.

Strong arguments from both camps. Klopp clearly sees something in him, and his attacking attributes do make him desirable – he’s not an awful player by any means. But, he is going to need to learn when to “follow instructions” and when to hold his position, of which I’m sure Klopp will dictate to him.

Another Benteke Bid Rejected

The Reds have rejected a second bid from Crystal Palace for Christian Benteke, having previously snubbed an offer believed to be in the region of £27million earlier this summer.

This time the offer was the £30m that the Reds are looking for. But it was rejected. The latest offer was believed to be £23m up front with £7m in add ons. The club are looking for a guaranteed £30m upfront for the player, believing the add ons attached to the latest deal are too unrealistic.

Seems both clubs are intent on playing hardball, which could end one of two ways – either Palace end their interest and we’re stuck with the player until at least January (assuming no other clubs come in for him) or we get to see the rewards of holding firm and they cough up the £30m.

Could go right down to the wire this.

Milner & Sturridge Train

Daniel Sturridge and James Milner trained with the first team today, after being left out of Sunday’s dramatic win over Arsenal due to injury problems.

Milner is reportedly set to start the upcoming game at left back, so it will be interesting to see whether Sturridge gets a start.
