HERE is your tea time round-up of today’s biggest Liverpool FC stories.
Palace Reopen Benteke Talks
Crystal Palace have reopened talks to sign Christian Benteke, after their previous bid of £27million plus add-ons was rejected by Liverpool.
The club value the player at no less than £30million, and it appears their attempts at holding out for that fee might have paid off.
Let’s get it done, Reds.

Leicester Set For Main Stand Debut
The club have been given permission to play their EFL Cup second round tie away from home, even if the Reds are drawn as the home team.
The Main Stand won’t be ready in time for the tie to be played on home soil, meaning that the Reds first game will be at home to Leicester in the league on 10th September.
It’s gonna look boss.

Southampton Away For £20
Good news for travelling Reds this season – their trip to Southampton, currently scheduled for 19th November, will cost just £20 due to an initiative set up by the Saints new sponsor Virgin Media.
Virgin Media have teamed up with the Football Supporters Federation to subsidise the £30 capped away ticket by £10 per away fan, as part of the Twenty’s Plenty campaign.
Be good if the Reds could do something like this.

Arsenal Defender Ruled Out
Gabriel Paulista has confirmed his manager’s worst fears, having been ruled out for six-eight weeks with an ankle injury he picked up playing in a friendly against Manchester City on Sunday.
The Arsenal centre back’s injury has put further pressure on Arsene Wenger to try and find a replacement before Sunday’s season opener at the Emirates, otherwise he may have to start with the inexperienced duo of Rob Holding and Calum Chambers.
How confident are you, lads?

Mourinho’s At It Again
Aren’t you so glad he’s back? Jose Mourinho has been at it again, taking shots at Klopp and Wenger after their criticism over the world record transfer of Paul Pogba.
The Manchester United manager said: “When I heard some of the comments and heard some of the managers criticising that, I don’t think they ever have this problem because, to have this problem, you need to be at one of the top clubs in the world. So at Man United it can happen.”
Is anybody arsed?

Divock Ready To Be Number Nine
Divock Origi has been talking about the Reds’ chances this season, and how he is prepared to battle for his spot in the team.
The Belgian striker had a great spell towards the back end of last season, and has looked as lively in pre-season and could play a big role in the Reds plans this season.
Will he take the outgoing Benteke’s shirt number, too?
