Like what we do? Buy us a pint!
Due to recent unnecessary and outrageous criticism of myself I’ll keep this swift: ;)
You fecking blind feckers. I’ve always voted Labour. But now I just draw a cock.
That’s right. I draw a cock. My ancestors have fought and died for my right to draw a cock. What else is there. Even #TAW bring on career politicians, who have NEVER worked a normal job. Ever.
Labour won’t win the next election. It’ll be a coalition again and they’ll dilute their policies. Don’t be fooled. It’ll never happen.

Must (slightly) agree with Bob here.
All Labour are these days is the better of two evils.
What’s the issue? TAW have got access to a politician who’s party are proposing changes that would have a huge effect on LFC. It’s an interesting subject and who better to deliver it than one of the party. If Alison was telling us about the Labour manifesto then I’d understand your point (and Bob’s comment last month about the balance of fairness) but I still wouldn’t agree with you. I’m not particularly taken by the LEADERS of the Labour Party but the day TAW start having Tories on in the interest of balance because they’ve been lucky enough to use Alison on the podcast, then I’ll stop listening. Unnecessary and hypercritical for the City and club of Liverpool. Personally, I think you should be pleased TAW have access to people who can expand on a subject, and leave it at that. Not look too much into it.
P.s I think it’s futile suggesting who would be on the board. Sounds like Jay has his sights firmly on that vacancy. Probably be the right person for it too
The basic issue is that right wing ideologies say that as long as someone is making money it must be ok. That’s the fundamental problem eg the house price racket that feeds into “growth” figures. Just make sure that not enough is built and keep giving massive tax incentives to btl landlords to guarantee them a profit. Never mind the 35-40% of the population that will always rent, they can just pay higher rents to fund the ponzi scheme. screw them.
Meanwhile so long as we buy more than we sell as a country we’re getting poorer and right wing ideologies don’t care about that, just that you should try and make money from it.
That’s what I hate about those ideologies that we live under. Guaranteed to make us poorer as a nation and set us onto each other. Blame the immigrants/dole scroungers/the state , you name it. Just protect the City and the importers and corporates.
So I don’t care about what the party is called, just about who is prepared to challenge these awful ideologies.
– Directors only have to look after shareholders, their remit should be expanded by law to be allowed to take other things into account like the local community and employment (as in Pennsylvania). Easy law change. It’ll never happen.
– build a housing unit for every unit that becomes buy-to-let. It’ll never happen. Got to guarantee profits for those “movers and shakers”.
– set the tax system so that exporters are taxed the least and rentiers are taxed the most to encourage exporting (ie real wealth creation). It’ll never happen.
– remove the ability to avoid tax on any residential property sale eg George Osbourne’s family house, in its offshore trust.
Basic things, they’ll never happen so politicians can go and do one.
