Jürgen Klopp praised Frank Lampard for the job he’s done at Chelsea so far, but will his young core have enough to stop The Reds?
To discuss and preview the game, Josh Sexton is joined by Gareth Roberts and Ian Ryan, and Rebecca Knight talks all things Chelsea.
Chelsea see us as rivals but the feeling (certainly by older fans i.e. me) has never been reciprocated.
Any rivalry was born out of Maureen taunting Liverpool fans and in turn, their fans loving and fuelling it but I was always reminded of George Bernard Shaw who said “Hatred is the coward’s revenge for being intimidated.”
For me, it was always and will always be a tame rivalry and I use the word rivalry as sparingly as I can.
Their fan base still has its fair share of dickheads who fuel this rather than us but as you say Gareth, it’s still Everton and Utd who see us as rivals and the joy of that, is that the rivalry there is reciprocated.
Amen to that.
