This weekend, Liverpool’s U18s travelled to Stuttgart to take part in the Mercedes-Benz Junior Cup 2019, an indoor six-a-side tournament featuring teams from across Europe (and Atlanta United from the US), and The Anfield Wrap were lucky enough to be invited by Mercedes to cover the event.
During that time we were able to sit down with Liverpool U18s coach Barry Lewtas to get his thoughts from the tournament, his role within The Reds’ youth setup, Jürgen Klopp’s influence on goings on at The Academy, and the emergence of 16-year-old starlet Ki-Jana Hoever.
