I’ll happily MAKE THE BREWS LAD’S CAN I HAVE A JOB PLEASE….put in a good word Glen Mate
Fekir … ALL DAY LONG! … Dynamic, confident, intense and mature. He would create a new ‘fab four’ with his presence.
Pulisic … Supremely talented but I THINK for the first year or two we’d be getting a player on the level that Phil was at when he FIRST joined us. So he’d be handy and score a worldie every few games, but NOT good enough to be a first choice starter.
Dembele … Of course I’d take him. But ONLY if the loan includes a CONCRETE buying option, AND the player confirms he’d be happy to move to England permanently. Do not want us developing him for 12 months and seeing some quality performances only to lose him at the end of the season and see Barca get the long-term benefits.
Neves … I rate him a lot. But something about him makes me think that IF he became a TOP player for us that he would swiftly be looking for his NEXT move. I might be totally wrong. Just get that vibe. But he’s pure quality, and a lot of clubs will be looking at him.
Madison … Watched him a few times, and he reminds me SLIGHTLY of Beckham. Has a mean shot, good free-kicks, and drives the team with passion and effort. But he ain’t ready for a club at our level.
Sessegnon … Must say I’ve never seen him play, other than a few clips. But millions of supporters who say he’s top notch can’t all be wrong … so yeah, I’d have him.
@Matyn
Good targets all, Very much what I had in mind as well.
Properly set up to thrill and press for the future.
tarkowski and Harry Maguire wont hurt either…
Fekir is the best of that lot. Sign him up.
And left back cover for that genius Robertson. And a CB. And FORWARDS!!!!
Klopp has done a great job- except getting us somehow into the biggest club match in the world with Ings and Solanke as our forward back up. WHAT???? I noticed Real brought some guy called Bale on last week. He scored a jammer. Isco (Jamie Redknapp in drag) has also been warming the wood in Madrid recently.
Thank God this match is only (mainly) 11 v 11. Any counting beyond there are we are rinsed.
Is there any wonder we keep shipping goals in the last 10? We have 11 fit first team players, people.
It’s great that we’re even in for these sorts of players. That era between Rafa leaving and Klopp arriving was such an odd one for recruitment. Although we picked up the occasional Gem (Suarez, Hendo’, Lallana, Can etc), we never seemed to be in the conversation when young European talent was on the market, not players that other top clubs would definitely be interested in. Players like Nabil Fekir, Keita and VvD absolutely signal the type of ruthless ambition that we’ve lacked for too long. Exciting stuff! :)
Good players for the middle:
Ndidi top of the Euro tackles table (Whoscored.com)
Fekir – Euro top 5 player on same site.
Naby coming in.
Pulisic for front 3/middle bit by bit.
Lose Lallana, losing Can. Yorkshire Hamez and Henderson need fewer games.
Alisson
Koulibaly
Sessegnon
Pulisic
Fekir
Champions
Neil,
send in your CV for the vacant number 2 position. send ings and dom to rangers.
Neil , if number six is lifted and it its a big possibility. and yes I was one of those who think our captain was shit. and it was never a comparison to the new rangers manager. it was he is still shocking striking a ball in front of goal but JK has tuned so effectively he is the scott brown of English football or the old Ronnie Whelan, we miss him when he is not in the side.
that was a poor comparison to Ronnie, he was brilliant. my point was the player not being in the team. Sorry Ronnie. I loved your book and growing up as young red in Ireland. I digress Neil, hope you got mu point.
Loved that. That 2 minutes without breathing about a Hendo back up / replacement was actually the best summary of why he is so critical to our set up
I agree, very underrated player. I think you made a point Lee, somewhere else, about unsung heroes (relatively speaking) like Ronnie Whelan (my favourite player as a youngster). In that respect I can see the Hendo’ replacing Gerrard situation in terms of McMahon and Whelan coming in for the likes of Souness and Terry Mac’. I wonder if the level of ‘fume’ would’ve been similar in the wider world, had the internet existed back then. I have a picture in my head of Jordan lifting the Champions League trophy aloft. Wow, that would (hopefully ‘will’) be something special. :)
