The second in our series of free audio documentaries revisiting notable days in Liverpool Football Club’s history. This time we head back to November 6, 1982 and to Goodison Park for a derby victory Liverpool fans still sing about to this day.
Helping us tell the story are Liverpool players Ian Rush, Phil Thompson, Alan Kennedy and Bruce Grobbelaar, Everton legend Graeme Sharp, first-team coach Roy Evans, journalists Graham Beecroft, Tony Evans and Brian Reade and supporters Rob Gutmann, John Mackin, Mike Nevin and Kev Sampson.

Great trip to the occasion! Well done!
Really enjoyed that – thanks to all involved.
I remember going back to school on Monday 8th November with a big smile on my face!
Great story about Rush needing a ride home from Ratcliffe—and Ian not getting any abuse from the Blues fans, just Ratcliffe!
I remember playing subutteo in my garage listening to the Radio 2 second half commentary. Watched it on you tube recently and didn’t realise how many other chances we had. A great day and Gibbo has done another superb job turning this into an equally great podcast. Worth £5 for that one alone!!
Great listen that lads, well done to all who made it happen. I’d not long been in Australia in 82 but saw many a derby before that. Watched this one with a load of reds and blues together in the middle of the night. No guessing who stayed up and who went home to bed!! Looking forward to more of these shows
To hear Rushie at the end talking about Scouser Tommy bringing tears to his eyes gave me tears in mine, what a footballer he was
