Gareth Roberts is joined by James McKenna and Rob Gutmann as the excitement ramps up for Liverpool’s first Champions League semi-final in nine years.
How important is the power of Anfield in this tie and what we can expect from Roma?
Also on the show, Andy Heaton speaks to Italian football expert James Horncastle about the Serie A side while John Gibbons chats to Head of Club and Supporter Liaison Tony Barrett about the build up to the game from Liverpool fans.
Still waiting for the ‘immediate economic shock and recession’, Mr Expert.
Just to follow up on Gareth Roberts’ wee rant on Talking Reds, about some of the stupidity that has passed for “punditry” re Liverpool v Roma. The BBC has got to be the worst for this. Just heard some unmentionable on Radio 5 come out with this one: “I think Liverpool have only got to the CL semi finals by playing some good football, whereas Roma have beaten Barcelona.” In the run up to the QF v Man City, it was something like, “Man City are the best team in the world (!!!) so no contest!” In the run up to the last 16 v Porto, it was, “Great defence, have Porto, whereas Liverpool are weak `there. Porto to breeze through.”
Epic.
European old money boys. European old Royalty. No new oil money.
It’s 11.10pm as I type and there’s something strange in the air. Liverpool have dispatched Roma 5-0 tonight. Yes, soft Roma away goals for sure. Yet TAW are silent and LFCTV cut their scheduled post match reaction sh0w by 30mins. There are so far NO comments from Jurgen or any of the lads.
It’s as if it was Liverpool 2 Roma 5
What’s going on?????
Correction: “Liverpool have dispatched Roma 5-2 tonight”
But hey! Where is everybody??????
