Felipe Anderson is starting to eclipse his vaunted team mates since his return from injury. Wonder what Klopp would think of him. All the skill & end product is there, but I’m also impressed with his work rate.
As much as I’ve enjoyed following Atletico under Simeone, I believe he’s peaked with that squad. He achieved so much with a ragtag bunch of veterans & nearly men. They savored the underdog status, they fought like hell, and then they fought some more just for the hell of it. Now the ones who have stuck around are hitting the age wall. When Simeone adds class attacking talent, he seems unable to get the most out of them. So many have come in, only to be sold off quickly -admittedly at a profit – without getting the numbers their talent is capable of. He’s an incredible manager, but only suites niche circumstances.
