That was good wasn’t it?
Liverpool were dreadful but Virgil van Dijk popped up to win the match for the Mighty Boys In Red and Liverpool swagger away into the distance into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Reds found a way, found a third consecutive 2-1 win and found their way to Derby glory.
Our post match show has Paul Senior, Dan Austin, Craig Hannan, Gareth Roberts and John Gibbons doing the absolute business.
It isn’t safe for work. But what is these days?
wheres Benjani johnson???????
Loved that boys. The Pink is what this is ALLLLL about. #Since1995.
VVD bossing Karius about was tremendous.
I thought it telling that our defenders and keeper all looked a bit shocked to have someone bossing them and actually organising. It was bloody glorious!
Not a big fan of John Gibbons ‘railing on’ Karius and giving him Zero out of ten in the rankings just to prove a point that he’s not better than Mignolet. Yes, Migs’ is better at present. Neither of our keepers are good enough but I think it’s very mean and small-minded on a human level (“I’ve no problem with him, he’s just f*cking shit”) to actually write an article about a young Liverpool player after we’ve just beaten Everton in the derby. I’m sure I’ll get shot down for this opinion, sadly but I just found this part of the ratings, and the show, to be a bit distasteful and uncharitable. I think there are ways to get a point across, in any media, with a little class. The lad’s a red after all, even if only due to employment. Don’t worry, it just….left a bad taste for me.
Hear, hear. Second this. The lad’s a red. We can be critical but not vicious !
Cheers Ringha, appreciate I’m not alone in this opinion.
Ps- in no-way am I any kind of Karius fan, or apologist. Something in the written word, and Gibbo’s stance tonight on the show just didn’t sit right with me. Just my opinion and best wishes to all Reds tonight. Let’s win this bloody cup and give all the daft pundits (you know, the ones that still call Firmino ‘FIRMINIO’ for crying out loud) a different stick to beat Klopp with. :)
Maybe I’m just being a bit over sensitive, like I said, not a fan of any of our two main keepers. Funny day, ignore me, I’m just getting old, it’s ‘the change’. :) Chuffed to bits with that tonight.
Agree with you James.
Me too- agree with you James. The lad’s under severe pressure every game and not given the run to develop his confidence. VVD balled him to come out for a couple of balls in 2nd half and maybe that’s more if all he needs- a decisive bossy defender to help him build his confidence as the defenders to date were as indecisive as him and Migs to date. It’s all about confidence to match the skills. So go on Gibbo- give the guy a break.
Thank you Redsup. Good to know.
Thanks Fred, nice one.
Don’t apologise James. There are a few on TAW who seem to like to engage in personal abuse of our own players. Not on but there you go.
Cheers Yog (if that IS your real name! :) . Thought I’d be on my own with this one. Appreciate the comments of Redsup and Fred too. Just thought Gibbo’ was a bit over the top on this one.
Got to give Karius some time, lads. Ter Stegen was crap for three years with Barça, but look at him now. He’s young, too young to be our #1 at the moment, but let’s talk in a year or two. Then we’ll see. #1995
Love this.
Things I’ve done since 1995 …
Married, divorced & married again
Put on 5 stone and lost them
Lived abroad for 10 years
Gone grey
Everton haven’t won a trophy in my lifetime. Since 1995
Bit rubbish that 2-1 is the new 7-0, but lovin it lovin it.
Like a Virgil , scored for the very first time, like a Virgil

Have you changed the website?
I am a subscriber, but now there are no podcasts available except for the free ones. I use an Android deck and listen direct or download from the webpage.
Thanks for any help.
Hi mate, if you’re still experiencing issues email [email protected] and we can assist from there.
Neil said VVD has a big head but was thinking about another appendage. Calm down Atko!
Seriously though – worried about Bobby – when he doesn’t have his mate on the pitch he goes a bit mad….
This was great. Robbo spot on about Robertson – I absolutely love the way he plays football and it all felt very 1980s when I was watching him yesterday. And I am not fond of Karius’ nihilistic approach to goalkeeping but he’s not as bad as Gibbo makes him out to be… I wonder if he’ll continue in goal against Porto though.
Haha, ‘nihilistic approach’. I think that’s been our whole defence for a while to be honest Amy. Plus, absolutely brilliant perception about Robertson being like a throwback ‘80’s player. Definitely something of the Alan Kennedy’s (what an underrated player by the way) about him. Really liking this lad’s attitude and talent so far. Great post.
Looking forward to the Spy VS Spy interview.
I think that show is in my top ten of all time….
Spent most of it laughing…
