On Duncan Castles, did anyone see Oliver Holt’s comeback to him the other day. I think Holt had written something about Jose Mourinho being a manager that will bring your club trophies, but wouldn’t truly endear himself to the fanbase or those in power long term. Holt had written that he’s not a manager who would ever receive the honour of having a statue built of him by a club. Castles re-tweeted this but with a photo of an actual statue of Mourinho that Porto had, had commissioned. Also, Castles rebutted (in his own inimitable style) some of Holts other reflections on Mourinho. Holt then apologised for not knowing about the Porto statue (although his article was metaphorical anyway) and said that he’d also forgotten about the one in Castle’s living room!
I’m not a cheer-leader for Oliver Holt (I don’t mind him to be fair, and he is way, way above the level of Duncan Castle’s) but, I did enjoy this. :)
