Liverpool abject against Tottenham and The Anfield Wrap is not messing about. It’s a performance and result which could come to define a season and Liverpool simply have to improve.
Having gifted Tottenham four goals we work through that, the aftermath and the agony of watching a season slip away.
Why can’t Liverpool manage a game better or defend with their lives? What needs to change? Can it?
Neil Atkinson hosts as Gareth Roberts, John Gibbons and Ian Salmon savage the carcass of that game.

Hate to be one of ‘those’ people, but I really miss Rafa at times like these. Actually feel jealous of Newcastle!
Milner in at RB, Gomez in at CB, Ward at in GK, two holding CM’s whoever.
Can’t say I’ve seen a lot of Ward play but any time I have he has swept well, came got high balls, good with his feet and good communicator.
Is there that much of a gulf between him and Karius/Mignolet?
Aberdeen and Huddersfield fans raved about him.
Just go with a back five of Ward, TAA, Gomez, Matip, Moreno for every premier league game until January. Let them develop an understanding and build partnerships together. Can’t be any worse than the crap we have had to put up with so far. When the January window opens I expect defensive reinforcements but until then give the young lads with a bit of desire a chance.
Also, it wouldn’t hurt to sit Can in front of the defense or switch to a 4231 formation. It’s not rocket science. If you don’t have the worlds greatest defenders they will need support. I’m tired of watching our back line get completely destroyed regardless of the opposition.
Probably won’t happen like. Just expecting more of the same until we finally write the season off in mid-December.
Previous Reds managers have been sacked for less.Three defenders, dm,rm,kpr and striker shud of been bought last summer. Lots of dross, Ds,DL,Rk should of been sold.
#Ancelotti4Anfield. Play Grujic and Ings.Klopp gone by Cmas.Worse than Koeman.
Get Rafa back, sack Klopp, bring in Ancelotti and so on.
Knowdoibt all of you people wanting Klopp out were the same when Rafe got the chop.
Klopp is guilty of putting to much faith in players who are not quite at the level you need to challenge for the title true but do any of us really know what financial restraint he is being put under by the owners?
The greatest manager we have ever had took over 5 years to win the title, yes starting from a lower base but the owners, staff and more importantly the fans stayed behind him even when he made mistakes. If Shankly was about now how long would he have been given by our support?
We can’t just keep getting rid every time the team hit the wall, criticise, analysis by all means but can we all agree at least he is a top manager who needs the support of us as supporters more than ever, if we don’t you may just get what you are looking for , he may walk, what a waste that would be.
Big Dom’s mate Tammy Abraham scored a brace against Huddersfield, if Ian wants to argue his case with Klopp… I’d go with that line-up. Feels straightforward and effective.
It’s not that complicated, Rodgers didn’t win the league cos of the defense and goals conceded. Klopp’s persisted with Mignolet, Lovren, Moreno and got Matip on a free, None of these 4 players are good enough to wear the shirt and it’s rubbing off on the rest of the team. I thought the first thing Klopp was gonna do in his first full season was address the defense as the main imbalance. What kind of idiot is Klopp to believe something different than the whole of world football, pundits, fans, ex-players. He’s an idiot, I’ve watched these morons make the same mistakes for the past 4 seasons. F-Off LFC, there’s no point in becoming emotionally involved with this club anymore
I reckon the 4231 is a decent shout at the moment. Not least because it gives us a bit more variety going forward anyway. While defensively we are comical I do think we’ve become far too easy to nullify going forward as well. Opposition fans say it’s easy to play us – just let us have the ball and stay compact. It’s been true for a good while now as well. I’m a big Klopp fan and wouldn’t even consider whether we should look elsewhere, but this particular area is somewhere I feel he could evolve. He’s presided over defensively solid teams before and I think he’ll get there with us, but he’s consistently struggled in his career against sides that negate the press and hand him the initiative.
Sticking the so-far impressive Solanke at the pinnacle with the 3 amigos behind him might give us new options and more solidity with two in front of the defence.
The 4-2-3-1 could solidify us but where does the change come from off the bench when it’s not working on the pitch.
Ward
Moreno, Matip, Gomez, TAA
Hendo, Can
Coutinho, Firmino, Salah
Solanke/Sturridge
What’s left on the bench to change that front 4 when it’s not working while Mané and Lallana are out?
Ox?
I guess it’s worth a try.
What’s this Michael? No Lovren? ;o)
Line up looks better on (digital) paper. I hope Klopp and the team has some answers for us this weekend.
Still looking forward to it.
