A disappointing result, a dismal performance? Liverpool toiled away against Burnley and found themselves struggling to get the winner which never came.
Neil Atkinson hosts as Ian Salmon, Gareth Roberts, Dan Austin and Craig Hannan talk about the man of the match and are frustrated with The Reds like you wouldn’t believe.
Struggle to break down a deep defence at Anfield ✔️
Concede stupid goal✔️
Where have we seen this before?
Can’t help but feel that being one of our defenders is an outright burden right now, there’s never a confident looking back 4, no matter who lines up… i get the feeling when klopp is announcing his starting 11, all the defenders are sitting there thinking ‘please don’t pick me’
That nervousness is spreading like wildfire in my opinion. It makes me nervous and i’m hundreds of yards away just watching.
Great one lads. Ended perfectly :-D
Here lads, you know why they keep blaming it up into the top tier of the stands? It’s bad professionalism. It’s a lack of leadership as in there are very few players in the whole squad who have won ANY trophies. Never mind league championships. And that is a result of the transfer policy. You don’t sign many lads under 24-25 with a load of silverware. AND 4-3-3 does not work in England unless you have world class centre halves and a midfield destroyer. The snatchiness in front of goal is a direct result of being so bad at the back as in they feel they need to take every chance that comes their way because they know they’ll concede at least one goal if not more . I honestly think we could be in a spot of bother this year and it’s so predictable because we all know except the manager it seems what needs to have been done to shore things up.
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THE PINK?
This situation was too predictable in the summer. There are no excuses a better defense turns that 1-1 into a 1-0. Sevilla 2-2 into a 2-0, Watford 3-3 into a 0-3. Come January there needs to be marque defensive signings or you can just bin the rest of the season.
Strange, but the first half at any rate made me feel more optimistic than the Sevilla game, in which most of the football we played was on the counter and our midfield lost possession too easily at times in the second half. Reminded me of the team we saw in the first third of last season, albeit without the final ball. But then, I had just spent the morning arguing about politics with my dad and was all out of fume come kick-off.
One trick pony
