In the wake of an agreement between Liverpool and RB Leipzig for Naby Keita being confirmed we all want to know more about the deal, the player and The Reds’ plan.
Helping investigate all of these over the phone is Raphael Honigstein who believes Liverpool’s transfer plans are moving in the right direction and that the club have moved quickly to take step one of next summer here.
In a 24-minute conversation with Neil Atkinson he talks about the ground work Liverpool did to secure the player, how he suits Jürgen Klopp and the Premier League and how Liverpool can still improve.
Excellent and informative conversation. Good point about us turning Mane down originally so then spending 3X more on him twelve months later. Still…. it really feels like this deal boots into the stands those idiots who have been accusing Klopp of being too cautious
Rod this might boot those idiots, etc, but Keita is for 2018 and hopefully by then is injury-free. This is a potential signing and shows some positive intent.
The main frustration and concern from fans and idiots alike is what is Klopp doing about fixing the defensive issues that plagues LFC since before he even arrived? And will he receive the support to get this done (by August 31)?
Let’s hope so.
@Sash: Beg my pardon, but quit reading the Echo or watching Sky: Rafa was the best the denfence could get; it will never get any better. But Klopp is not a manager who wants to “concede less” but outscore the teams. Both are valid tactics. On the other hand: For such a high line being played, our defenece is class. you just can’t have it both ways.
