Rob Gutmann is joined by Glenn Price, Dan Vincent and Paul Hogan for the latest installment of the gutter show.

I’m a hypocrite for saying this as my heads going left, right and centre with each new snippet we get and I’m checking Twitter every 20 mins hoping to see a breakthrough. But, Klopp’s right, we need to be patient. I was saying it too last night when texting a friend. Liverpool seem fairly relaxed although Klopp dropped the first hint all is not well today with his ‘difficult’ quote.
We’ve waited what will be 28 years so we can wait until the end of August to sign the title. We have the players to cover and that’s exactly what we’ll be signing if we get Keita, Van Dijk and Oxlade Chamberlain. It gives us quality and strength in depth plus a multitude of cover for any eventuality.
These deals are difficult, especially for us because we don’t know where each one is truly up to but I don’t buy this – the selling club has the power. The player has the power. Past experience tells us that. Sterling is a case in point. We couldn’t keep him, end of.
The bottom line is, regardless of what happens or what’s happened if we get those 3 then it’s been an incredible window even if it”s on the last day of August. It would reaffirm to me that LFC under Klopp are on their way back. I’m convinced we’ve become one of the prem’s most appealing projects and tying those 3 up would prove it. So, now is not the time to worry. They all seem like they’re still very possibles. It’s when the door is firmly shut we need to lose our heads. The bit in the middle is just transfer porn and we want that gratification now. If anyone takes this dream away from us we need to take action, don’t buy Red Bull, burn down St Mary’s etc. Two of these signings are stepping stones to former glories returning. We simply have to get them.
the champions league qualifier could play a part – some players might not 100% commit until we negotiate our way through that, especially if we are using CL footie as a selling point. We might also be hedging our best financially in terms of committing to a fee until we know we have that CL pot in the bank.
I can’t see it mate. It’s too risky a strategy. We have the money with or without a potential £20m for the group stages. The big money comes from progressing after the group. Going out in the group stage with say 3 wins would produce £15m. Then you have gate fee’s (£6m profit). Keita wants to come today. We want him today. The issue is Leipzig.
