MORE fresh(ish) links to Liverpool appearing in today’s media, with hurdles still to overcome in The Reds’ pursuit of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
With the club reportedly monitoring alternative options in what would appear an attempt to play hard-ball in negotiations with Roma, it will be of great interest to some that JAMES RODRIGUEZ is once again being linked with a move to Anfield.
The Colombian heads up a list of several names heading for the exit at Real Madrid this summer and Spanish publication Don Balon report that Liverpool are willing to do battle with Manchester United for the £52 million-rated midfielder.
However, The Reds could face an uphill task with the Madrid man apparently keen to work with Jose Mourinho again.

Another attack-minded player that Liverpool could consider as a Salah alternative is DOUGLAS COSTA who looks set to leave Bayern Munich this summer after failing to nail down a first team spot under Carlo Ancelotti.
Reports from German newspaper Bild suggest that a whole host of clubs could make a move for the Brazilian, who is valued at around £40m by Bayern.
If the stories surrounding Salah’s £40m price tag are to be believed, Costa could be a viable option for The Reds — though not without competition.

The same publication reports that Jürgen Klopp could go back to the Bundesliga to look for reinforcements between the sticks.
MARWIN HITZ’S contract expires at the end of next season and his club Augsburg are apparently willing to cash in on the Swiss stopper.
If Liverpool do move for Hitz they will face competition from Stuttgart, though Klopp has indicated on several occasions he is happy with his current goalkeeping situation.
With Liverpool’s left-back problems not looking any closer to being solved, links with Napoli’s FAOUZI GHOULAM may pique the interest.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Algerian is wanted by The Reds with it considered likely that he will follow Pepe Reina out of the club.
Napoli expect more interest in Ghoulam so Liverpool would have to be quick to steal a march if their interest is genuine.

Douglas Costa’s first season with Bayern was a blast. Was more mute under Pep and Carlo though. Still, a very fast winger, excellent technique but for that quality, missing a little on end product IMHO.
Signing one from Italy is risky, signing two is taking the piss.
When did Rodriguez play under Mourinho ? I thought he signed for Madrid a year after Jose left
