After a fantastic win and performance from Liverpool against West Ham United, Neil Atkinson is joined by Gareth Roberts, Jay McKenna and Rob Gutmann. The three talk about the astonishing quality of Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge within the change of shape from the Liverpool manager.
Sturridge takes up much of the show. What he showed against the Hammers and what happens next with him. What should he do, what should Klopp do? Was Sunday a game changer?
Liverpool have one game to go to confirm top four. Nearly there, Reds…

Sturridge is far too good for this team to think it can afford to sell him.
I agree Fergal, he’s an exceptional player, however he’s only exceptional when he’s on the pitch. Even so he’s too good to let go for a knock down fee and we have to pay loads to buy a replacement who would probably not be as good.
Sturridges quality has never been in doubt.
His ability to stay off the treatment table is though.
Sunday should begin with Boro’s side coming out nervous as fuck because the lads on the terraces scared the shite out of them on their way in as well as in the stadium. The Reds can do it on the pitch and you lads, lucky enough to be there, can do it too. Go ‘ead boys, make it happen like you’ve done many times before. – An arl arse’s prayer……
Gareth moaning about people being negative about the win is strange, because I have read so many comments and spoken with quite a few Liverpool fans, and I am yet to see one fan who was negative about the result and performance.
Great show. Really good to hear the love for Daniel Sturridge. Some good analysis, too. Particularly around vertical passing and Coutinho dropping deep. I made this point when Gerrard left, that Coutinho has should be dropped back into the Pirlo position as his career progresses: he has, as we saw, all the qualities for the playmaking role – just needs the right movement/players in front of him.
I think we might obsess over the Rafa era too much sometimes; that the way to cut through requires 3 players (Xabi to Gerrard, Gerrard to Torres), but there are many ways to peel an orange (cue Simpsons class). Ronnie Whelan used to drop deep to pick the ball off our centre halves toes to get us moving in days gone by.
I wish fans/journalists would stop framing Sturridge’s injury problems around some sort of perceived character flaw. His body lets him down: he’s unlucky. That is all. Good to see TAW sticking up for him on the show..
