EVEN more fuming about Leicester now.
Bossed that today, even if Arsenal scored a really good goal…
Simon Mignolet: 8
Cannot overstate how good a save that was from Olivier Giroud’s header — had to rearrange balance, strong hand and the calmness not to lose his head when it bounced back into play.
Nathaniel Clyne: 7
Can’t believe how wide him and James Milner were when we had possession in the back four, pulled Arsenal into all kinds of weird shapes
Some crucial interventions at key times when Arsenal looked to invoke the famous mass Liverpool panic.
Joel Matip: 7
Let one drift over his head but, besides that, was solid. His best performance since coming back from injury, adapted well to the change in Arsenal’s attacking intent in the second period.
Ragnar Klavan: 7
Looked to have a semblance of understanding with Matip and Emre Can — between them, in the main, managing to stifle Arsenal’s first half attacking intent.
Couple of arse twitches but maybe that’s more on the crowd than him.
James Milner: 8
Better, much better than of late.
Needed a big one with Jordan Henderson missing and didn’t disappoint.
Emre Can: 8.5
Obviously read my rating from Leicester and thought “fuck you, Heaton, you midget cunt.”
So, so good today, everything on instinct, which may actually be the issue, but bossed it for long periods.
Georginio Wijnaldum: 8
We play well, he plays well.
Lay a track for the tank and he’ll roll over anyone, great little finish to put it to bed too.
Adam Lallana: 8
Easily the best he’s looked since he’s come back, linked, defending, broke up play, calmed everything down when needed.
Same again please, la.
Sadio Mane: 9
Ridiculous, isn’t he?
Watch the finish, seriously, watch it over and over, gets better with every viewing.
Balance is incredible.
Philippe Coutinho: 7.5
Still missing a little something but we don’t half look better with him in the side.
Roberto Firmino: 8.5
Did all the lads get together and have a word again?
Been shite for seven weeks and wanted to fight the world tonight.
Not sure if he meant his first touch for the first goal but he scored anyway so who’s arsed?
SUBS
Divock Origi: 7
They took their big lads off so we put ours on.
Great little run and assist for the one that put it to bed.
Lucas Leiva: n/a
Trent Alexander-Arnold: 10
Better than life.

Gave all the lads a 1, save Coutinho who earned a 2 for the goal, this was much, much better. Although, once again, we’re up for the big match (fairly normal for any team), but show me this in a 6-nil drubbing of Burnley next week, and we’ll officially be back on track.
Should be said the 1 ratings were all for the Leicester match.
Nobody seems to be raving about Coutinho’s dummy for Bobby’s goal. Catches him from the corner of his eye, ball fizzes in and he dummies it so that it goes straight to Bobby who bangs it in like a good un!
Some great individual displays out there but the team turned up too.
We should be walking this league. Our ceiling as a side is Ridiculous. Hope this isn’t another false dawn, and that confidence and mentality stay high for Burnley.
Give up trying to make sense of this. Where’s the fight when we need it they say. Don’t we always. Where’s the fight lads? It’s there for sure. There’s a man on the line who demands it and thousand in the crowd who expect it. What about the TV and your pay cheque. Where’s the blood and sweat lads? It’s there when we need it. We always need it. Gave up trying to make sense of this. Unity eclipses everything.
Coutinho tried a back heel flick and, fortunately, missed. It wasn’t an intentional dummy.
From the Main Stand it looked like a dummy to me. I will watch MoTD, either way, great goal!
Great win and well written ratings Sir. Some will say I’m harsh to be picky buts let’s not fool ourselves on Clyne. He was caught woefully wrong side his man for Gunners goal and is still clueless in last third. Think about him blazing it over the bar from a great position with options. 4 at best.
Agree with the ratings, though I don’t want to get all hyped up again after today’s game.
Was sort of expecting this win, not to sound snarky, but after the Leicester game, I was indifferent as I watched today’s game. It was Arsenal’s if they wanted to take it to the Reds especially if Wenger played Sanchez at the start. Unfortunately for them, they were up against a team this season that just knows how to take on the top 6 teams who like to play football. Who knows why?
Now let’s hope it’s not back to the rinse-and-repeat performances with the “lesser” teams. Burnley’s probably relishing another bus-parking defeat of the Reds at Anfield. Fuck em!!
Up the inconsistent Reds!!!
Emre’s a master of the dark arts…..
Yes, and sorry to be picky also, but where were our players when theirs were crowding the ref begging him to send Can off. We should have been in their faces, having none of it. Still collectively too nice. Hendo would have been in the thick of it, whereas the stand in captain was nowhere to be seen.
Still, so much better from the lads.
Thought Welbeck impeded Clyne in the build up to their goal. The finishes on the first two goals were excellent as Cech spread himself. Loved the third goal. Someone behind me went ballistic with rage when Lallana slowed down & waited for support, patience mate, patience.
Lallana was magnificent today. Nipping, tucking, twinkling, on the half turn…He makes that third goal with presence of mind, playing to his own metronome. And what a ball to send Origi away…
No more than an 8 for Lallana, no?
Bi-Polar.
Great game. I’d give Klavan an extra point for some body on the line blocks in the second half when we were wavering. Good to see Can have a decent performance
You could bet the Big Time Charlies would be up for this.
