Neil Atkinson hosts as Steve Graves and Adam Melia try to understand why The Reds were so abject against Leicester City. There are no excuses for a performance that poor and there have been no excuses for Liverpool’s record against poorer sides for a while.
No one thinks they have all the answers but they have a lot of the questions. Liverpool were second to too much. And it is a result which stings as much as any can.
Apreciate you doing The Pink tonight lads, it’s times like these when I actually do not want your job! I’m heading under a duvet (I may not be back for some time…..was that Oates?). Social media blackout. Bye.
It feels like we Never draw against these ‘lesser’ sides. We are Never hard to beat, it’s always Zero sum where we win or lose. Surely one of the first things to work on as a side, is some sort of foundation. Our defence has been terrible for years and years now, since 2011’/12′ under Kenny. It’s basic.
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Jurgen Klopps tactics against anyone or everyone .
I know 16 or 17 months isn’t a long time to asses Klopps time at Liverpool but I can’t see any significant difference between him and Rodgers . At times we have seen some amazing football but still the same defensive frailties. The problem I have is Rodgers was ham strung with the loss of Sturridge through injury and then Liverpool sold Suares without out any significant replacements. Both managers have been negligent in addressing both the goalkeeper and defensive positions let alone in bringing in a central midfield enforcer . At Chelsea Conte may have inherited a better team but they bought Cante and Conte may have been lucky in finding a winning formation but something he said to Eddie Jones Englands rugby union coach was very interesting .”PICK YOUR FIGHTS ” You cant play every game the same way.
Wake up Jurgen or 7th place beckons.
I work hard at work, make mistakes, look at those mistakes, and make adjustments so I don’t keep making them over and over again, logical. Liverpool and Klopp work hard, makes mistakes, and then continues to make them over and over again….it’s like groundhogs day, with Klopp as Bill Murray (doppelgängers?). It’s hard to be an Liverpool fan when watching a team with no cutting edge or creativity without Henderson. Although we will probably beat Arsenal, Liverpool is the fifth or sixth best team in the League and will probably finish fifth or sixth… no real progress. Just disappointed we will again be looking up to teams with the financial superiority and will continue to do so with a sugar daddy owner.
