Neil Atkinson was joined by Sean Rogers for a detailed look back at Liverpool’s score draw with Chelsea.
The Tuesday Review is a considered in-depth discussion of Liverpool’s last match introducing talk around tactics and selection. It’s just one of a string of shows on TAW Player, our subscription podcast service that offers more than 30 shows about Liverpool FC every month. Find out more here.
Couldn’t help but be reminded about Pep and Xavi talking about football before the great Barca side. They both felt it had passed them by that the new ‘percussive’ football, based on athleticism and physique was the future, that there would be no room for smaller footballers like them. I wonder if that Barca side was the exception to the rule, a freak occurrence?
Watching the last World Cup I did begin to think the sport could easily lose its appeal if athletic teams just cancel each other out. Two solutions occurred: 10 players or bigger pitches. We have to acknowledge that footballers are far fitter today though pitches have remained the same size. Rafa’s blanket may actually cover everything in years to come.
Excellent as usual lads. I listen to this on headphones to not wake the house early doors and my tea keeps going cold because I get lost in the points made, it’s so good.
Thank fuck for the depth of analysis on TAW, I couldn’t get a stream that was ‘clean’, every one I tried was heavy with fuckin malware shite. As if some fucker had targeted the sites, I ended up totally frustrated and chewing my nails and occasionally checking the score on the friggin BBC Sports site. Any offers of a good site to stream from lads? I’ll be forever in your debt if you have…..
fitz07-try ronaldo7 or reddit soccer streams.
Re Can, his better performances are not necessarily when he has less time, more so against the better sides where he can use his physicality. I thought his battling, especially aerialy (?), was excellent on Tuesday.
A good point earned, esp since I don’t think Coutinho, Firmino or Lallana had especially good games.
