‘TWAS ever fucking thus, and another one on the manager, needs a new message or new players, happened to many times not to be a massive problem.
Fucking abject and what’s worse, everyone saw it coming after 10 minutes.
Simon Mignolet: 4
Oh look, a set piece. Oh look, we’ve conceded because our ‘keeper can’t take control of his area.
Endemic of the team, when expectation of victory isn’t big, he’s fine, when we’re expected to be dominant, well…
Nathaniel Clyne: 4
Remember when he scored against us for Southampton and we all thought he was a great attacking full-back?
Fine going back but dogshit decision making in the final third.
Lucas Leiva: 5
Played against a dogshite Hull at centre-half and was part of a Liverpool defence that conceded twice.
Joel Matip: 5
Played against a dogshite Hull at centre-half and was part of a Liverpool defence that conceded twice.
Particularly poor for their second, take a yellow lad.
James Milner: 4
Looks banjoed, needs a break desperately.
Emre Can: 2
Back to the mean, fucking astounding he gets in ahead of Gini Wijnaldum.
Absolutely to blame for gifting the game to Hull, far too casual in gifting them the corner, would’ve got the hook at half-time for ANY other team in the league but seems to be the manager’s pet project.
Jordan Henderson: 6
Poked and probed, and knew it wasn’t happening and ended up trying to do too much.
Second half a 0-0 he starts to have some success, but Emre and that.
Adam Lallana: 4
Nowhere near the same player pre-injury.
Philippe Coutinho: 5
See above. Finding his form and rhythm, a fraction of a second off with his decisions and execution.
Roberto Firmino: 5
Not today, and not for a while, bar the big occasion last week, another one that needs a rest and quick.
Squad depth and that.
Sadio Mane: 7
Only viable threat, beat his man time after time but had nothing to aim for, forced the only meaningful save of the game too.
SUBS
Daniel Sturridge: 5
Looks done at Liverpool, love him but it’s just not happening, which is a massive shame.
Divock Origi: N/A
Alberto Moreno: N/A

Mingo is scared.
He’s scared of the ball, of the man, of the pressure.
If I ever see Emre Can play for Liverpool again i’I’ll explode.
Utter shite
Agreed !
Was true from day one , could never understand the man love for this lumber jack
This slump is depressing as hell. Would take 4th right now, even looked to see how far behind us The Ev are FFS. Need the scrappiest of scrappy wins from somewhere but god knows where.
That cheered me up Andy, to be fair. Well said.
You know what Andy? I’ve been reading your ratings for the past few matches on here and noticed that mostly Origi and whoever is the last sub get N/As.
Is that a coincidence or Klopp’s wait-for-the-last-minute approach to change the game?
Emre Can’t, he simply Can’t. Klopp needs to take all of them except Mane on another vacation, maybe Disneyland this time.
Mane is probably the only one in my book who gets 7 or 8 and +2 for having to endure going out of AFCON, FA, League and PL, not to mention the upcoming 6th or 8th position that awaits this team and Jurgen and still come in and put in a shift.
And what do you rate Klopp?
He gets a -5/10 for me for showing up with jokes instead of a plan to reverse the same bus parking tactics seen by the “lesser” sides.
Really poor.
1.Why Can ?
2.Why was Sakho forced out to make way for Lucas ? What great crime did he commit ?
3.We refused to buy a player because he was asking for more money. The clubs do the same thing every time the tv rights come up for renewal. What kind of twisted logic is that ?
Honestly, I’d be thrilled if Sakho came back after the loan move. Wish it were Van Dijk, but we all know FSG ain’t gonna play that way.
Wish Draxler were here now, too, but apparently we’re skint after that big summer spending spree. Besides, what are we going to do with pace, width, and an eye for goal? Scored 4 in 6 at PSG already, mind.
6 for Henderson’s display? He’s the captain for fu*ks sake and all he could muster was a decent shot that the keeper enjoyed tipping over and a few of his long cross field passed that look great. He has absolutely no leadership qualities and at best is a decent back up to a top central midfield controller. We are going nowhere until we swap decent for quality. A mixture of good scouting and FSG not looking for profitable transfer windows would sort this.
Firmino is playing shit. Needs to be dropped so he knows it’s not acceptable. Lallana is gone back to the old useless Lallana. Coutinho looks poor since he returned.
Milner is looking 40 years old. Honestly, Maldini at 40 looked as fit as Milner right now.
Lucas plays, bad things happen.
Too many ordinary players and not enough class players to carry them.
Absolutely spot on. If you make the same fucking mistakes every game don’t be surprised when the results don’t change. And when the same mistakes lead to us losing 1-0 don’t wait until the last 20 minutes to change it.
I will never now how Lucas has been at our club …… For how long???
Can isn’t the manager’s only pet project, what does Bobby the grafter have to do to get the hook. Time we played a proper striker, y’know, one who scores goals and that. Give him a rest.
You’re pretty generous to Lucas. His lazy pass resulted in the corner setting up Hull’s first goal. Then his decision to continue moving forward while Hull began their counterattack left Matip hung out to dry on the second. He’s quickly become a liability on the field, not unlike Skrtel was last season.
Where was the crisp and determined play that was on display against the league leaders just a few days ago? Continually playing down to our competition makes me want to pull my hair out!
How does Coutinho get a 5? All those ridiculous passes straight out of play to NO ONE AT ALL. He was so shit. gets a 2.
No depth at all.
Why Can over Gini?
Poor Mane. only one who was worth anything.
Milner was looked like a 45 year old man on that field. UGH!
im begging for sturridge to get the next 2 starts so it’ll kill off some of the arguments.
Well we were warned that when things went wrong with Klopp they’d go badly wrong. Pretty much agree with all the ratings although the CBs should be marked down for having one thing to do in the last 20 mins and failing to do it. Anyone bitching at Hendo for that is a muppet.
Anyone here not think they would score from that corner. It’s always a frikkin soft one.
Cannot argue with any of that. What puzzles me is this. Why do FSG appoint a world class manager but a season and a half in, he’s starting a game with 9 of Brendan Rodgers’ signings? I’m starting to doubt that he has the funds and FSG want miracles on a budget. We can’t win this way. Football has changed too much and as much as anyone wants to convince themselves otherwise (well spent) money talks
When Can was fucking about which eventually led to the corner for the first goal, I thought “it’d be just typical they’ll score”. Why? Because it’s the same old depressing shite.
I said on the final whistle thread we need to fetch our act together for top 4. Wed have all taken it at the start of the season and to narrowly miss out wouldn’t have been a disaster, transition and all that.
BUT, if we miss out on top 4, considering the start to the season we had. This season will have been a disaster, absolutely no doubt about it.
*Get our act together. Fucking auto correct.
This was awful. Truly awful. None deserve better than 5 and that’s only Mane. Klopp starting Lucas ahead of Klaven plus Can ahead of Gini is a massive statement to the level of our resources and the thinking of our manager.
Within 5 minutes of the 2nd half we should have gone for broke with a Plan A Mark II and it’s this:
Our system is tiring now, oppositions are fitter now and wised up to dealing with us. So go more direct differently. Take off Can plus Lallana and Coutinho bringing in Gini, Sturridge and Origi. Our defence is weak and needs a constantly interchanging and attacking team to cover its deficiency. It also needs strikers with points to prove.
Today’s team never showed the imputus or energy to get in and score. How long is it since we have seen us pepper the oppositions goal? Bournemouth probably and as soon as we took our foot off their throats, we paid the price. Southampton 2nd leg, 2nd half but Sturridge was unlucky not to hat-trick and the gamble undid us. But it’s our only way for the moment- live on the edge to get the goals or die unceremoniously against the Swanseas and Hulls of this world.
High energy with a weak squad won’t stay the distance at this stage of JKs development.
Jurgen has too much faith in them to make radical decisions to get a dirty job done. Conte and even that gobber Mourinho have the mean streak to go for broke and to hell with the hooked players’ pride. Plus they’ll play long ball and dive for frees when they have to. Gerrard, Owen, Suarez never apologised for trying to get us penalties.
3 changes within 5 – 15 minutes of the second half would’ve changed the dynamic with new players that couldn’t be any worse than 9 of the other outfielders there already. It would have given us time for the reformation to find its rhythm with a couple of goal scorers (technically) on the pitch too.
A poor performance all round from the top man down.
This summer is simple. Sign mean fuckers. I don’t want us bringing in anyone who hasn’t been sent off in their career. We need gnarly bastards who hate losing so much you worry for their health when they do. We need players who will just wipe you out if you try and bring the ball through the centre. We need players who will score with their hand if they think they can get away with it.
I want to see us start profiting from dodgy decisions because we’ve harangued the ref into favouring us. I want us coming away from Old Trafford with a penalty we won after one of ours dived in the area and the ref bought it. I want to start getting the kind of wins where opposition fans give us pelters for being lucky but we can take the three points home with us thank you very much.
Absolutely shite….since when did being able to run a lot with no consistent end product warrant a nailed on starting place. Had a perfectly good striker on the bench who gets no consistent 90 minutes in order to get a goal streak going. Sorry but Klopp is never going to bring a League Title to Anfield. The comment about managing in Scandanavia may come true at this rate. The team and manager are just not up to scratch and constantly pissing about with the starting 11 is not fucking helping anybody……
To depressed to say anything other than agree with all the criticism of players, the Manager, the team and the owners. Oh! and Can is one of the worst players to play for our club.
ApSpot on guys truly poorWhy do we put up with this shit?
Couts get a 4 as a gift today. Lallana, as poor as he was, was much better than him. I know injury and all that, but at the moment he is supposed to be on bench based on his come back. It will work out eventually, and I wouldn’t bench him for Woodburn, shame that same goes for Wijnaldum, Sturridge and Origi. Those three should be better wingers than Couts is at the moment, but at the moment it is probably the same outcome with less chances of a wonder-strike you have with him.
Can has to be Klopp’s son- it’s the only rationale for playing him
What do goalkeepers do in training?
I’m sure John Achterberg is a committed guy but he can only work wit what he has.
How do you teach concentration/intelligence (Karius/Payet, Mig/Luis)?
How do you teach bravery?
How do you teach decision making- when to twist or stick?
The FSG PR website (LFC.com) gave Mig room to explain why he is quite good at pens (2% at most of his game) but not why he is so shit the rest of the time.
What does Alex Manningr do, is he able to be sub?
How is Danny Ward doing for Klopps mate at Huddersfield? Is he able to be recalled?
We are stuck with what we have until the summer
When you’re going through Hull, keep on going.
Dagon, that comment was by far the best , funniest and most appropriate comment amongst this set of posts. Agreed, Quiff boy Can is rubbish. ‘Klopp is his dad’ It must be true.
I came across this that was extracted from Borussia Dortmund subreddit post after the Hull match. It’s been hard to take these past few matches, so I at least I need to set aside my furstration, anger and have some patience to think about things. This helps a bit.
Please give this a read and let me know what you think:
“Now I want to quickly state this isn’t a call to be positive, or a post to call out those who are cynical. We all handle defeats and bad form differently. Some of us are pessimists, and thats fine, while others are overly optimistic, but that’s also fine. The point of this post was to get the views from the Borussia Dortmund fans on our situation. The consensus is that our squad isn’t that good, and we might not make top four. However, from their experience, we should be prepared for that, as it took them a while to get going under Klopp as well, and they were on the fence over players like Lewandowski and Mkhitaryan initially. We should prepare for some horrible results up ahead, yet, we should also be prepared to celebrate success. I’d like to apologize for any comments that might portray the fanbase as overreactionary or anything like that. You guys are the best, and there’s a reason why I come to this sub after a victory or defeat. Lets just wait it out and see what happens, and enjoy the ride. We’ll cuss out Emre Can and Simon Mignolet together, and we’ll drop our jaws at a Coutinho beauty together. It doesn’t matter what happens, because we still have a chance. Let me know what you guys think about the rest of the season, and a huge thank you to the Dortmund fans for taking out their time and letting us know their opinion on shit.”
1) The reason Jurgen Klopp doesn’t change his tactics is that he wants to play the team into them. He has the ability to tinker, as we saw against Man United and Man City, but won’t do it often to ensure the players really get behind the system. Maybe this means our players still haven’t adapted to Klopp’s playing style completely yet. Credit to /u/Loeffellux for that one.
2) If a player doesn’t one hundred percent buy into Klopp’s philosophy, he’ll get sold. This tells me that despite what we want to think, Daniel Sturridge probably doesn’t have much of a future here.
3) I found this one the most interesting: /u/Icantrememberlogins wrote that if a player looks shit, but Klopp believes in them, its worth being patient. He cites Schmelzer, Lewandowski, and Mkhitaryan as examples. This would probably be why he keeps selecting Emre Can, who has been garbage this season, but has looked world class in the Europa League games last season. I’d still play Gini personally, but Can isn’t going anywhere, because Klopp sees potential in him. While some of you may scoff at that, keep in mind Mkhitaryan was hot garbage until his last season at Dortmund, and Lewandowski didn’t become a regular starter until Lucas Barios left the club.
4) The BVB fans back Klopp to turn it around and get us into the top four. /u/TheTrolledOne thinks that Chelsea have just been too good for anyone this season, and that they’d probably win the Champions League if they were in it. I’d probably have to agree with that sentiment, because keep in mind, their entire starting XI bar Moses and Alonso have won league titles before. Meanwhile, outside of Milner, no one in our squad has lifted one of the major trophies of UCL, Premier League, or FA Cup before. We’re going through a major rebuild, and unlike City or United, we haven’t had any form of success in a major competition for a long, long time. /u/MrMountainFace says that even though clubs like City and United have top tier managers and have invested in world class players with their money warchests, we’ve still outperformed them thus far. He says we will stablize in time. Honestly, this really caught my eye, because while City and United have played out of this world at times this season, they’re currently in the same boat as us in terms of being in the middle of a rebuild. Their players have struggled for consistency throughout the season as well, which is why players like Kevin De Bruyne and Paul Pogba have been missing for large parts of the season; they’re not one hundred percent used to the manager’s tactics yet. It could be a reason why our players have dropped off recently as well.
5) They’re not a hundred percent sure what to make of our players. /u/Jonhl15 wrote that the absences of Coutinho, Mane, Dejan, and Matip have made us look a lot worse than we actually are. However, /u/Icantrememberlogins says that there are very few players at the current LFC squad that he’d take at BVB, which is a fair assessment imo. As to whether they’re good enough to finish top four, /u/MrMountainFace says we’ll have to hope tactics work and let things run their course.
6) Finally, /u/Icantrememberlogins mentions that City, United, and Chelsea are all under greater pressure than us to finish in the top four, considering their pedigree and success in recent years. There’s a high chance we won’t make top four, but that isn’t our focus is it? He writes that Klopp will obviously attempt to win every trophy, because that’s the type of manager that he is, but right now, he’s still working towards getting the right squad and giving key players minutes to ensure their consistency. We don’t have all the right pieces, but look at how long it took for Coutinho to become a world class player (and after today’s performance, debates over his consistency are going to start again). Origi, Emre, and Karius have had moments, but they’re going to need minutes and experience.
