Neil Atkinson hosts as John Gibbons, Danny Austin, Steve Graves and Adam Melia discuss Liverpool’s draw at Sunderland. Neil is low but the others are relatively upbeat about proceedings. See how you feel afterwards. There are ups and downs for us all in this one. Jordan Henderson was a big miss and there remain question marks around the referee and yet Liverpool got themselves ahead twice in quick succession.
This is our post match Liverpool podcast though and as such just a warning tempers can run high. Everyone wants to see Liverpool win games. We know you do too. Thanks for subscribing and happy new year. Up The Reds.
We had Anthony Taylor at home against these and we ended up losing Phil to injury. He’s a dreadful ref – the game never feels safe when he’s in charge. Why did the FA not see that he’d already reffed us against Sunderland.
One of those results that feels worse the next day. There’s so much to love about this team and this season and yet it seems no matter what we do it’s never quite enough for what we all want more than anything. I’ll come to my senses in a day or two’s time but right now it’s rough. Thanks for making it a little lighter.
There were 4 penalty shouts in the game.
One for us and 3 for Sunderland.
The 4th best shout was when Can handled it but the ball ricochets off his knee first so you can’t give a pen for that.
The 3rd best shout was the penalty the ref gave for the foul by Klavan. It was very harsh but you get them given and sometimes they don’t give them.
The 2nd best shout for a pen was ours. It was either Clyne or Mane who had their shirt pulled in the box by Larsson early in the game. definite penalty.
And then obviously there is the nailed on Mane pen.
If you are giving the first and third as penalties then why are you not giving the second?
Shit ref….
End of.
Nice analysis.
Plus the fact that it’s a pathetic decision by Taylor to award the free kick that led to the Mane pen.
Am I right in thinking that he’s the ref who allowed West Ham and Carroll’s smash and grab goal v Mignolet to stand in 13/14?
