Rob Gutmann hosts after Jurgen Klopp opened up about Liverpool not doing any business so far this window. Josh Sexton, Dan Vincent and Neil Atkinson are his guests.
What are Liverpool trying to do? Could all this have been avoided? And what should the policy be?

Think I heard this exact same show in the Summer. ‘Lack of ambition’, ‘won’t spend the money’, ‘won’t be able to compete with City and United’. Boring
Why is their no option to press play? Why have some podcasts recently not had a play option?!
It’s an issue with the IOS update. If you pinch your screen it is actually still there. Something on our list to sort.
Cup and third sounds about right at the moment. I don’t think one single player in January would shore us up and get us the title especially with Chelsea doing what they are doing. Last year Klopp had us playing at 120% in the cups, unlocking all the potential Brendan had bought that had been inconsistent or poorly managed (or so we thought) then that second half of the Europa final brought the realisation that we aren’t quite as good as we thought we were (at least mentally). Same deal here and I hope we aren’t so distraught at missing what is perceived as a title gone begging that the team picks up the disappointed vibes to miss out on fourth and a chance for Klopp to spend the money we can assume he’s been saving.
I genuinely don’t understand how any Red could believe under FSG we are going to go out in the summer and buy 4 belters and increase the weekly wage budget by circa £400,000. There’s just no way FSG would sign off on an inflation in the wage budget of that much.
What evidence is there that after acting consistently in one way for over 6 years, FSG are going to to do a 180 and suddenly change the policy they’ve employed since they got here and bring in big, belter, signings for big fees and big wages?
City did this from the day the Sheik bought the club. To become league champions and have a genuine chance in the CL it cost him the best part of £1bn. But he has proven that that huge investment was worth it as in 5 years time or so, if this current trajectory maintains, his club will probably be worth not far off £1bn.
In City FSG have the absolute proven method of how you can take your club from nowhere near PL or CL title contenders to champions. FSG however, cannot and will not go anywhere near to employing this method which is why I think anyone thinking their brining in 4 belters on big wages in the summer is partaking in very wishful thinking.
