Simon Starts
CHANCES are you probably know this already, or you expected it to be the case — or maybe you’ve just been living under a rock since Loris Karius let Dimitri Payet kick it into his goal last weekend — but Jürgen Klopp has today confirmed that Simon Mignolet will continue in goal against Everton.
Karius was heavily criticised for a poor run of form, which included some high profile mistakes, leading to the German being dropped for the visit to Middlesbrough.
And Klopp confirmed Mignolet would stay between the sticks for the trip across Stanley Park, as he said: “I don’t want to change each week.
“Simon did really well so there’s nothing to think about, only if something happens and then we have Loris again.”
Got to admire Klopp’s decisiveness with big decisions.
Derby Injury News
LIVERPOOL will make a late decision on the fitness of Daniel Sturridge, Emre Can and Joel Matip ahead of Monday’s trip to Goodison Park.
Sturridge is said to be closer to first team training after suffering a calf injury, while Can and Matip are likely to feature in some capacity.
The only confirmed absentees are Philippe Coutinho and Marko Grujic.
Great stuff.
Klopp’s Creed
SEEMED in good spirits today, Kloppo. Reckon he knows we’re gonna smash the Blues on Monday. One thing he doesn’t know much about is Goodison Park. Though, he has seen it once before…
He told the press: “Last night when I watched Creed that was my first impression of Goodison Park.”
It’s not that good, you know, Jürgen (Goodison, dunno about Creed).
