WOW, what a ridiculously, Utterly Brilliant Coda!!!! Superb stuff from the Atkinson lad, and superb stuff from the boys in er’ Toxic today. All is well, all Will be well. :)
Great listen as normal, it’s boss the fact that people are discussing what their favourite goal of the night was against Palace away. Love watching this side .
If Mignoket was putting in performances like Karius is doing he would be slaughtered. Yesterday Karius came for their first goal and doesn’t get there when if he had just stayed on his line he would have just caught it, and doesn’t even try to make save for the second.
Also numerous kicks out of play and playing defenders into trouble.
I just don’t get why we’ve changed a player who was playing really well for one that looks hopeless.
For sure…but Simon has had enough stick for the past 3years…so let’s give the lad a break…where winning….so until we lose….leave the German feller between the sticks…
That is a bit reactive isn’t it? I’m sure Karius has all the skills to be a very good keeper for us and will get there eventually all things being equal, but his head is completely gone at the moment and it is sure to cost us points sooner rather than later. I get why Klopp wants him in the team as opposition teams haven’t been able to press us like they did when Mingolet was in goal at the start of the season. But if he is only going to save shots hit straight him (and then drop them in dangerous areas) and not come for crosses then we might as well play Lucas in goal (I reckon he would do better on corners).
Melissa Ready always emphasises just how confident Karius comes across in interviews, and I am sure he is about most things (hard not to be with a face like a ken doll I imagine). However, I am wondering whether that is actually counting against him now as he doesn’t look like he knows how to deal with his nerves in the slightest. Maybe he has never really been in a situation where he has felt like it was bigger than him and he had to stop and take a deep breath and step up to meet it (he probably has never had much trouble asking girls to dance for example). That’s what it looks like in any case.
To be fair, stepping into Liverpool’s goal is always going to be nerve wrecking no matter who you are but the fact that he hasn’t settled after 4-5 games where we have been winning easily and scoring enough goals to cover for his mistakes is a worry. If he were playing any other position you would definitely be taking him out of the team, let him get his head right and then reintroduce him again slowly in the cups before he makes the mistake that costs us points and gets the support offside.
