TAW contributors with 10 talking points from Liverpool’s 0-0 Premier League draw with Manchester United at Anfield.

1. Loris Low On Confidence?

We are going to be arguing about that goalkeeper for quite a while, I think. @Danny_Austin14.

The ‘keeper is dreadful. @RobGutmann.

After four games Karius has only conceded two goals. And yet, I’m not sure he’s actually made a save yet. @whichdave.

He’s not filling me with confidence but he’s certainly no worse in that sense than the other fella. Conceded two set-piece goals that are a problem with the team as a whole and have been for years now. @Adam_Smith_82.

Him literally not having to make a save so far isn’t as much a compliment to him, it’s our defence surely? Will give him time, just saying. We were all sold on this ultra confident keeper — not seeing it, that’s my worry. @C_Hannan7.

2. Done With Daniel?

We were better when Sturridge went off, in terms of shape. @RobGutmann.

Looked good when Sturridge went off. @Benjanijohnson.

I’d agree on the Sturridge shout. Wasn’t happening for him tonight. @StephenEvans75.

3. Joel’s Just Boss

Matip excellent again tonight an arguably our best attacking threat when he strides out of defence, he can pick a pass too. @StephenEvans75.

And I love Matip. @robbohuyton.

Matip, for the third autocorrect, was boss. @Andrew_Heaton.

4. The Manc Ref

I know it’s unfashionable to talk about the referee but Jesus wept. If he wanted to prove he wasn’t pro-United he fucked it right up. When you’ve got a team playing those sort of Mourinho shithouse tactics, you need a referee who’s strong not one born in the fucking Stretford End. Utter shite. @Adam_Smith_82.

Also agree with Adam on the ref, I know it’s not usually done to have a pop but fuck me mate. He couldn’t be more Manc! I’d put my mortgage on it that he gooses with a Ferguson mask on. dpvdecorators.

5. Mour Reason To Hate Jose

Mourinho’s tactics prevailed. They were a lot better than last year. He pressed them high on our full-backs and cut us off at source. Nobody better at squeezing the life out of a game. @NeilDocking.

Do you love him if he’s yours, though? Do you? Because that’s the question. @robbohuyton.

I’ll always say no because I despise the cunt, more than anyone else in football. But you just never know how it would have been if he had got the job at some point. @StephenEvans75.

6. ‘Keep-ing Them In It

Any other ‘keeper in the world in their net and we win 2-0. @whichdave.

We drew 0-0 due to two saves, one good the other outstanding, at the other end of the pitch. Just saying. @robbohuyton.

7. Ant And Decked

I’ve only seen it once but I thought the Valencia tackle on Firmino was huge — that looked to me like the one time we really opened them up and created a very good chance with clever play from Coutinho. If Bobby strikes it quicker and that goes in we probably win the game. @NeilDocking.

It was typical of the game that when Valencia needed to be a world-class defender for the first time in his career, he managed it. Brilliant Coutinho flick and control by Top Knot Bobby, but Valencia thwarted him…the prick! @whichdave.

8. A Point Earned?

Frustrating game but could well turn out a useful point come May. @_lfcjoel .

I’m happy with that point. We were disjointed but that shit can happen after an international break. @RobGutmann.

I’m fine with a draw, to be honest. You don’t play out of your skin every week and you don’t win every game. So the most important thing becomes not to lose. After the first half-hour, it didn’t look like that would happen. @66zimbo.

9. Crowded Out

Atmosphere was horrific. Like we were playing Bolton or something. Maybe the near three weeks of hype and tension just killed the energy off. @Danny_Austin14.

It was shite. Nervy. Started well, then went quiet. And the dissenting voices started early. I always believe – rightly or wrongly – that it permeates to the pitch. I expected us to take the roof off tonight. Too many arm-folders. @robbohuyton.

To stick up for the crowd a bit. Thought it was mainly nervy. Nervy is understandable. We’re playing Man U at home and not playing well. Part of the problem is that it matters so much to people. That can be a positive and negative. You can’t turn it off. @johngibbonsblog.
