The Anfield Wrap’s weekly free magazine show on Radio CityTalk – a show that can come at you from any angle; from a look at books to the most recent game; from a question around an issue to a discussion around transfers.
It’s your Anfield Wrap on Radio City Talk show, Neil Atkinson is joined by John Gibbons, Alison Mcgovern and Simon Hughes to talk about his new book ‘Ring Of Fire’.
The Parry era gets a massive easy ride compared to H&G. Anfield should have been developed at the same time OT was being developed in the mid 90s – but wasn’t. He’s as much to blame for Liverpool’s decline as H&G in my opinion. We are still trying to catch up and, while FSG get lots of stick, they’re redeveloping the stadium and increasing commercial revenue.
Parry was chief executive. H&G were owners. Very big difference. It’s Moores that failed to respond adequately to the changing football landscape – and the focussed ambitions of Man Utd in particular.
