The Anfield Wrap’s last look at the weekend action, taking into account repeated viewings as well as stats and patterns around the game. Neil Atkinson and Sean Rogers look to have the final word on what unfolded in the 90 minutes and contextualise it across the season.
In the first Tuesday Review of the season proper, Neil is joined by Sean Rogers and Ian Salmon to try and analyse Liverpool’s opening day victory over Arsenal at The Emirates.
I am just going to drop this here, for Ian and Sean:

Clearly, neither one of them actually re-viewed the match in its entirety. Even worse, their comments about Arsenal’s first goal indicate that they did not even look carefully at the multiple slow-motion replays thereof.
Ian’s strong conviction regarding just how far up-field and out of position Moreno was, such that “there was no way he could recover in time”, was the most grating, in light of the actual empirical reality.
Oh well, one must not let actual empirical reality get in the way of a strong conviction, eloquently articulated, it appears.
Thanks, but they are unlikely to see it. You can contact both of them directly on Twitter.
