Heartbreaking.
That is all you can say. But somehow, and god love them, Craig Hannan and Kim Gordon manage to say more.
Here is The Pink after that. It hurts. It should hurt. Thank you. Thanks to Craig and Kim.

Yaknow what, fair play I’m gutted more than Athens more than Wembley thrice…I can’t be fucked talking about it least of all posting an audio. Up the mediocre reds
Great picture. Soundtrack: Roy Orbison’s ‘It’s Over’.
Up the Mr. Darcy Reds.
Followed by The Weight and Here Comes Your Man.
Klopp will lead us to glory. Believe.
Remember: he didn’t buy any of the players on the pitch tonight.
Think what he can do with his own players. Imagine. Dream.
Sturridge is still a great finisher but he is massive problem for us.His pressing is just a gesture and he can’t run behind anymore which allows teams to push high up and nullify our high pressing game.such a shame what’s happened to him but we have too call time on him as he won’t stay around to be a super sub.
Thanks for finding the strength to do this show. At the moment I don’t want to hear “next season” or “the summer”, just want to lie down and recover for about 5 months. I’ll go again, though. We’ll all go again.
I first saw the Reds in ’76.
40 years and I’ve never been more gutted, it’s the single biggest kick in the crotch bar none.
Not interested in pointing fingers just now as Paul says ” it’s over “.
Big transfer window. Again.
In Klopp we trust.
The Reds ARE coming up the hill.
Credo.
Rafa Darcy there… Boss. All the pints for the smartened up dickheads who aren’t doing full days tomorrow. A lot of cryarse shitbags who are being sore losers not staying out. Like the lads singing “Sakho’s on the magic, Everton are tragic” round bold st before. Fucking small time geeks. Lifetime ban from anfield immediately. Replace the left back with someone’s nan this summer and we’ll do ‘a Leicester and change footy forever!’ Ffs
Well done for getting something out lads. Heartbreaking result, most of the lads I know didn’t seem to acknowledge just how serious tonight was. But in the same vein.. I’m optimistic, this is the start of a lovely journey, a trip that takes us back where we belong. I hope you agree. Up the fucking try-hard reds, it’ll work out in the end xxxx
Never commented before but beer an sadness has brought me here.
Just one point about Coutinho who has been our best player for the last 18 months and continues to improve.
I have never seen such an invisible performance. He wasn’t involved in anything and was lucky not to be hooked.
Sorry I never enjoy slagging off individuals but I feel it had to be said.
He’s brilliant and will be brilliant again but tonight … y’know …
Up the heartbreaking reds.
Take away Sturridge moment of greatness with the goal and he didn’t do anything else during the game I thought he was poor
Coutinho was absent without leave
Albert Moreno is a very stupid child like player who we must replace
A simple reliable defending left back is better than what he offers
Going forward he doesn’t offer much anyway crosses are shit
Too many bad performances from too many players including emre can who I thought gave the ball away too much
I would also say that we only peformed well in the last 20 mins if the first half
Thanks for doing the pink tonight guys save journey home reds
I’m a wee bit baffled by your suggestion that Sturridge was the best player on the pitch in the first half.
Yes his goal was a magnificent finish but apart from that I’m not sure what else he really did.
Often found very deep and wide where he’s not gonna be a goal threat.
Kolo was excellent throughout the game and Clyne was very good in the first half.
They simply outplayed, out passed and out fought us for large periods of that game.
Coutinho was anonymous and Firmino not much better. Can’t wrap my head around how Coutinho stayed on the pitch for so long.
Moreno was terrible and I was extremely surprised that we never had a full back on the bench. Perhaps Milner could have been dropped back and Hendo brought on.
Klopp has to shoulder responsibility for decisions made last night also.
There was insightful observations from Klopp, unusually detailed in fact so soon after the event. Combination of mental and tactical shortfalls. He was furious during the game and you could see it dawning on him that this is group of players who aren’t good enough for him. I just hope his aura and man management skills are enough to attract players for what will in reality be a bedding in season and promise of jam tomorrow. That will be his toughest test to date.
I agree with some above….There is absolutely no way sturridge was the best player on the pitch. Most talented yes, best goal scorer yes. but if origi was 100% fit he would have played with sturridge on the bench. Klopps whole tactical set up falls apart when there is no one up front bossing it, running the channels creating space and bringing coutinho and firminho into the game. Add to that gifting them goals and we just capitulated at both ends. Lots to do in summer.
Thanks again for the pink, great professionalism coming in to do the show! Kolo M.O.M by a mile.
Fair play fellas for that pink, it was tough to listen to. The biggest disappointment for me was the occurrence of heads falling off once we conceded the first goal. I thought that was a trait Jurgen had managed to iron out over the last few months but when Albie had his double brain fart they just lost it. Disagree Sturridge was the main man on the pitch, great goal but didnt do much after that. Kolo was head and shoulders above anyone, Clyne the best of the rest. We dont need many new numbers to the squad given the lack of games now, but there should be upgrades all over the pitch and Jurgen will have his list already. Can still see us getting the players we want, such is the measure of the man and how players view him. Life goes on, roll on next season.
A hand full of games this season KLOPP has got terribly wrong just as southhsmptin he must shoulder a large part of the reason
We got it so wrong last night
Sturridge apart from the goal was in affective upfront
In the first half we struggled to them playing long balls but in the last 20 mins we started to get in top
Ok they score quick in the second half but before their second you could see that the midfield needed help in their
Coutinho was having a bad game as was fermino
A change should have been made earlier in the midfield
Hendo , Alan get the daft school kid Moreno off the pitch an move Milner to left back
It’s all good in hindsight for me to say all this now but once they got the equaliser we was really under the cosh
I thought Lallana was giving us a lot of energy and was trying harder than many other players so to see him come off was a shock
What this season has shown ma is that every now and then KLOPP will get it totally wrong
I subscribed today because I needed this. A perfect tonic to the games hangover. Up The Reds, and just think of how amazing we were in that 2013/14 season with no European games to distract us.
I’m too gutted to even type but in Klopp I trust, he’s taken a team of semi finalists and wrought two finals out of them,( what a Europa run! ). I will look forward to next season with renewed hope, optimism and faith, after the emotional breather and football palette cleanser that is the Euros.
Think Kolo was the best player by a mile and Milner the best of the rest. There’s one thing that they have in common, winners. After the first went in they just didn’t know what to do. Lets add some winners in the summer, some lads who know what to do when you concede so quickly and can focus the rest.
Don’t see the adulation you gave Sturridge. Yes its a world class finish that nobody else on the pitch does, but then that’s all I can remember him doing. And like you say if we go on and win 2-0 then he gets lauded with praise, but we didn’t. It wasn’t a performance that proves he’s in the top echelon of players. It proves he’s as good a finisher as there is but you’ve got to offer more after that and he didn’t today.
One point that stayed with me was late in the second half there was a ball to be chased and he was favourite to get it, but there defender just ran past him and went and got it. To me that just stunk of a lad who’s thought to himself, he doesn’t want to risk his body chasing that because the games gone and he doesn’t want to chance picking up an injury that puts him out the Euro’s. Don’t like that. Divock has been rushed back from injury, high chance of re-injury that puts him out the Euro’s by over stretching or something and not for one minute do I doubt he’d have chased that ball. Don’t want to be moaning about Danny like this but it really pissed me off.
At half time I was talking to some lad and said to him, you can see the stuff that might put Klopp off of him, but when he can do stuff like that, you’ve got to have him. You can be the best finisher in the world, but if your goals aren’t winning us big games and trophies you’ve got to do more on top of that.
