ROB GUTMANN is joined by Stuart Wright, Phil Blundell and Neil Atkinson to look at Liverpool’s 6 games in 19 days that could define a season.
The boys discuss the title race, the battle for the champions league places and the conflicts caused by cup semi finals and dates with minnows from far away.
Atkinson channels Churchill and Blundell says the quadruple is on!
What an absolutely inspirational call to arms by Neil on this show. Loved it. There I was in the gym with a big grin on my face. I got that sense of passion and fight that I felt when Neil was saying we were going to win the league back 13-14. If only the lads in the dressing room and the manager could listen. FedEx a copy of the show round to Melwood right away !!! This show is why I love TAW.
Yes Akko lad feel the pain born 83.
I wonder do FSG realise how much this means to us.
Jay Mckenna might disagree but if we win the league they can do what the fuck they like.
Rename the ground, bang another 20% on tickets, put jumbo screens on the kop they could probably get away with it because we’d be buzzing that much.
So come on FSG giving you carte blanche there give Klopp the nod- only the league, cheers.
Why are we even mentioning title challenges???
We currently sit 10th, the only team in the top half with a minus goal difference, we struggle to score goals, concede silly goals, have significant injury problems, have to cope with being in all comps still and are extremely inconsistent.
Stop the nonsense, it’s embarrassing.
I’m all for positivity. If you said we could win 2 or 3 cups I’d completely agree but this title talk is simply plain nuts.
By way of feedback, can we please have no more shows in which Neil’s “birthright fantasy” is indulged?
Tell Neil yourself, mate. You’ve got his Twitter and you were quick enough to tell him you enjoyed *his* analysis last week…. :-)
Ok, I will do that.
I didn’t realize it would be such an issue.
I thought it would be best to praise him, rather than criticize you, GR. Apparently I was mistaken.

Somebody needs to keep an eye on Neil if we don’t beat Sunderland tonight! Especially after the Leicester and City result would have had him even more giddy. Still find it mental that he can believe it’s possible with what Rob pointed out about the points needed. I really want to believe we can win it but i just don’t see the consistency in the squad right now.
Hah, a right belter that one. I love the AW and i really appreciate how they make defeats somewhat bearable. But, this new Neil, who has been ratcheting up the clarity together with passion and sticking it right out there, challenging his own mates as well as all of us out there, I like this, there is a time for a call to arms. Tonight, once again, we have a pivotal game, it’s classical Liverpool situation, we are way way better than these guys, who in tne Sunderland team would make it on to our bench even ? So are we gonna showcup, physically, mentally, technically, tactically ? Wouldn’t like to be in the studio afterwards with Neil if we don’t . Over to you Jurgan and this squad.
Neil has honed is argument over a number of shows and when you listen to his rhetoric it is easy to get swept along by it.
But, but, but… the holes in the argument are clear and most of them were picked up by the other guys on the pod.
We can set ourselves the priority of winning the league, but winning it is not in out hands. Arsenal and City only need to hold their form over the second half of the season and we would need the sort of half season that would win us the league in a strong season.
If this Liverpool team capable of putting that sort of run together yet? I hope so, but even if we can there is every chance City or Arsenal will step things up in the second half of the season.
We can hope for the return of a talisman in Sturridge, but Arsenal and City fans will also be anticipating better from Aguero and Sanchez in the second half of the season.
Neil talks about not being interested in top 4 if we can’t win the league, but what would that mean? It would mean lower revenues, it would likely mean another year of travelling to eastern Europe for Thursday night aways, it would mean a missed chance to build confidence, and a missed chance to build our standing in Europe, and boost our commercial clout.
Top 4 is realistic and is just about in our hands if we win some key matches. We are 33/1 for the title, 6/4 for top 4. It might not satisfy the romantics. but I will feel pretty pleased if we are sitting in 3rd or 4th at the end of this season.
Ha! Brilliant. The one in which Neil jumped the shark. Gloriously, it must be said.
Born in 81 and had my season ticket since 97 and found that a frustrating listen, but just because I wanted to scream at Neil and get involved.
Fair play to Neil and his single mindedness but I disagree. I’m in this to win things and that’s what I get excited about, the league is the one I want but I’m not willing to throw a shite team out for every cup and especially in a semi final on an outside chance.
I want to see my team win games and win as many as possible by using the squad.
You talk about the league cup wins like they didn’t mean anything, they do to me and my mates who went and there are lots of clubs who would swap to be that position.
He probably wants to shout at me as much as I want to shout at him.
