WE locked Neil Atkinson and Sean Rodgers in a studio and told them they couldn’t come out until they’d sorted out the current mess that is Liverpool.
They analyse what Jurgen Klopp might have been trying to do, and why it went wrong. They talked about what Jurgen Klopp knows about football, but what he might not know about the Premier League. They talked formation changes, personnel changes. Who needs to play more, and who needs to go for a walk.
Two men. Locked in a studio. Trying to sort it out.
Just the two of us. Building castles in the sky.
I don’t pretend to be a football manager but to a casual observer it seems that we have the players that best suit a 4-2-3-1.
However it is very important that the 3 give the 1 plenty of support.
I recently watched a video of Bentekes 49 goals for Villa and what was obvious was that at least 50% of his goals came from crosses and balls into the box.
When he’s not scoring he can still knock balls down, bring other players into the game and flick them on to runners.
Benteke or Origi or even Sturridge when fit could play the 1.
We have several players that are off that no10 ilk. Coutinho, Firmino, Lalllana could all play in the 3 as could Ibe, Markovic or Henderson even.
That’s leaves Lucas, Can, Milner, Allen or Hendo to play the 2.
What’s important is those 3 and even the fullback provide decent ammo for the 1 but also need to feed off him for knock down etc.
Perhaps I’m talking muck but we don’t have 2 prolific strikers with loads of movement to play 2 up top and we arnt exactly blessed with wingers either.
It seems the fit for now.
Thank God for Sean. I think some of the criticism directed at Skrtel has been borderline hysterical. A couple of games ago people were saying he’d had his best ever game for LFC. His mistake against Watford is the sort that are ten-a-penny every weekend in the EPL. I still couldn’t believe it when the ball hit the net. A combination of poor-ish positioning from Bogdan and the ball following the only line that gave it a chance of squeezing in from that angle. It was a good strike from Ighalo but still something of a freak. Sakho made at least 3 more egregious errors than Skrtel in that game and it was pure chance that none led to a goal. But then Skrtel isn’t a cult hero, so we’ll just skirt around that.
“skirt” around that.
See what I did there?
David/Sean,Look back at this seasons bollocks by Skertel,Newcastle og,West Ham clearing header led to 1-0,the only player skinned ny Martial this season 3-1,Crystal Palace lost marker 2-1,least said about the second goal Sunday the better I will not mention other missed tackles poor positional play etc.I am of the view that the mistakes stated above together with numerous mistakes the lasr few seasons should signal the end for him.Deeney was actually smirking at his ineptness on Sunday.
Every show, alright every Tuesday Review, should be like this one.
That was outstanding!
Well done, gentlemen!
