WHAT can you say about that?
No seriously, what can you say about that?
Any ideas?
We can but try our best. And we are doing so.
Neil Atkinson is joined by Andy Heaton, Craig Hannan and James McKenna to pick the bones out of that.
To find the bones.
Think I´ll pass on those bones
Could be some tasty ties in the next round. St Etienne would be nice.
Don’t know what kind of lager youz is drinking before recording….but I’ll take two please.
gimme 3-4 of those lagers! haha
That was, by a massive distance, far more entertaining than the match tonight. Cheers lads.
I learnt alot more about scouser accents tonight! haha. Cheers.
Jesus, take it easy fellas! Tone down the outrage. All a bit 606 that. Rescued by Craig’s deadpan delivery and the Lonsdale gag that had Jay foaming at the mouth. Strictly for the scousers that one :-)
The manager knows what he’s doing, Get behind him.
For me why he went so strong is he wants to knock this mentality out of the players that you can’t play Thursday-Sunday. He wants to win this thing, like I do and like many other fans do, and that’s not gonna happen when we have this mentality. The other European countries, to my knowledge don’t have this mentality and that’s why they’re having more success than us. The only way we rid ourselves of it is by going strong, sending kids doesn’t do anything to help us compete later on in the competition.
I also think he’s trying to make us capable of playing in Europe. Going away and being solid and toiling is fine in Europe, and it’s something we haven’t had the ability to do for years. Klopp knows how to play in Europe and he’s trying to get this into the players so when we’re in Europe it’s just natural to play the way he knows how to and it’s not something they’re forcing themselves to do. We can’t do this by sending kids, the only way to do this is by getting the team playing in these situations.
I think Jay called it right in the debate on the strength of the squad.
Maybe a couple more of the young lads could have started the game, but the squad that went was pretty much a given, once injuries allowed for and the decision had been taken to leave Moreno, Allen and Lucas behind.
With Ibe out, and Klopp electing to go one up front, Lallana and Firmino were always going to get game time, with Coutinho being eased back in. Besides Ibe, we don’t have a young player in the EL squad who you would play as an attacking mid. For the knockout stages, I think we will probably see Teixeira take Danny Ings place in the squad, giving an extra option.
