MISSED the first few minutes because I was in a band rehearsal that over-ran (Amsterdam, Saturday night, Arts Club, bring your friends). Hearing Liverpool had gone down after 40 seconds was hardly the news I wanted. Watching the next 15 minutes didn’t exactly cheer me up, either.
But then! Joe Allen got a grip of it, Emre Can showed the other side of the temperamental genius, and the Liverpool forwards kept kicking it in the goal. No let up. Relentless. Death by football.
I’ll try my best not to give everyone 10.
Adam Bogdan 8
Nothing he can do for their goal. Then he did lots of standing round while The Reds were mustard. But catches it well, and looks confident. A fine number two.
Connor Randall 8
I tweeted my concerns for Randall after the start he had. I worry about these lads as young footballers and men, and thought it might be a night that set him back. But his team-mates took control, and after that he was able to grow into it. Some fine work going forward after that.

Alberto Moreno 9
Dodgy for the first goal. Not unlike the opener at Chelsea, he’s not alive to the threat. But you take the pros with the cons with that type of defender and there were loads and loads of pros. Makes, if not scores, the third and was flying forward with purpose right until he was taken off.
Martin Skrtel 8
Pelle still hasn’t scored against Liverpool. Skrtel deserves credit for that, as he plays on him, and Pelle has scored against most.
Dejan Lovren 8
It opened up a few times his side, but he was quick enough to close the door. Can’t be easy for him going there, so will get a lot from the win and performance
Lucas Leiva 8
The platform that allows everything else.
Joe Allen 10
A huge part of the comeback. Gorgeous ball for the first goal. Wins it high up the pitch for the second. Loads of great closing down for the fourth, too. Or was it the fifth? There were loads of goals. Lots thought Klopp might not fancy him, but how could you not like that?
Emre Can 9
Sells himself too easy for the first, but there aren’t many players in the league who can make that play for the second. After that he was colossal. Still charging through in stoppage time.
Adam Lallana 9
“He’s winning 6-1, he’s winning 6-1… Adam Lallana, he’s winning 6-1.” Booed and more all night but kept his composure brilliantly. Made up for him.
Divock Origi 10
Explodes onto the scene with a perfect hat-trick. Great to see him grow in confidence throughout the game. Second is a peach.
Daniel Sturridge 10
The importance of his first two goals can’t be forgotten in an eventual rout. Goals change games, and the first is always vital. We were looking a bit shaky until then. Lovely to see him dance again.

Jordon Ibe 8
Outstanding finish. The type you can’t imagine him even trying a couple of months ago. Only 19, you know?
Jordan Henderson 7
Great celebration on the touchline with Klopp for the fifth.
Brad Smith 7
A remarkable turnaround. Didn’t look like he was ever going to play for the club again. Next thing he’s curling in crosses for 6-1 wins. Should have signed that contract ages ago, lad.

Should have given Bogdan 10. Just for a laugh, like.
Not panicking when the ball’s passed back to him does feel good though.
No idea why Lallana is booed
Allen motm. His body movement on the ball to get him out of tight areas was brilliant. Definitely should start on Sunday as Can is out
Great words on Lucas….
and great words on all other players too. actually :).
After Swans game, I mentioned Allen could have helped in such tight central areas..
He played today nearly as good as against ManC during 13/14
I BELIEVE
Most were TEN some were ELEVEN and Origi was TWELVE
When the Reds win, we all win. When the Reds win well, we all fly.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
for the record, I have been defending young Origi…to give him.time and he will be a key player for us for a long term….his strength, movement, energy, and now confidence…wow…once Sturridge is fully fit, Sturridge and Origi will be a handful…
Thank you :)
I was having the same conversation tonight in work with two Man Utd supporters, after i’d heard he’d scored one. Oh how they laughed. By the time i got back to my desk, he’d bagged his hat-trick, looking forward to bumping into those two again.
good you have bumped into MU colleagues by now.
Imagine how much options we have up front ~ various combinations ~ Sturridge/Benteke/ Origi/Firmino (and Ings)… and Courtinho/Ibe/Lallana.. depending.on opposition Klopp can plan out his own.options…
all of a sudden. we are looking like the real Liverpool of yesteryears.. (I don’t want to use any other team as reference…)
Lucas and Allen superb.Ten each.
I love Lucas, if I were a woman etc etc.
Love little Joe’s beard too. He’s trying so hard for a hug from the German genius.
Sturridge awesome, if he could stay fit we’d win the lot.
Only down side tonight happened in London…..

Tell that to a Kurd.
Sorry, wrong blog.
Origi and Can world class! Never doubted them ;)
Soz to be boring but at 1-0 Skrtel and Lovren are still not getting near to contesting headers in our box.
But Sturridge though… Every goal for 18 months has felt an absolute effort, then he just turns up and starts making it look a piece of piss again. I’ve missed that guy.
Shouts to the lesser spotted Brad Smith as well, btw. Cracking ball.
A week ago i was in a fume over Sturridge and his sore foot. I’m now in love with him again!
Thought after the quick first goal that the travel and schedule might be catching up with us. I was so wrong, wasn’t I?
Lucas and Allen were absolutely immense. Has Lucas ever lost a 50/50 arial duel?
We were sensational 10 across-the-board for everyone even the Welsh Nappy
The wavy locks, the beard, the control in the middle, that ball for the first goal (oh that ball) when the bloody hell did we sign Pirlo!!
Give little Joe that hug, ruffle his hair and show him that smile. He earnt it
“Next thing he’s curling in crosses for 6-1 wins.” Well written Mr. Gibbons, right until the very end (^), just like the lads you described so eloquently today.
Still drunk. Still laughing. What year is it?
YESSSSSSSSSS.
If you did not know the back story you would think that the performance of Dejan Lovren was simply a solid defensive performance. However, this guy has not looked anything like a Liverpool central defender in his time at the club. He has been unarguably awful. If you read the build up that Brendan gave him after he signed for us, you would think he was the love child of Alan Hansen and Franz Beckenbauer. From his performances under the previous regime, it is clear to see that this was what was expected of him. Remember the step overs, oh god remember that step over!
Since the injury of Sakho, Dejan, yes we all might start referring to him by his first name, has kept it simple. He has been steady, uncomplicated and reliable. He has even addressed the issue that Carragher highlighted repeatedly of leaving acres of space between himself and his full back. I watched last night, he was repeatedly checking and adjusting his position to fill the space.
I knew he could not be as bad has his performances suggested but I also knew he was not the footballing genius he was billed to be. I thought last night he was simply spectacular with the emphasis on simply.
Boss tha’
Totally agree with all those scores,Was a little bit worried when we went 1-0 down, but this Liverpool team just gets on with it,I always thought that Brendan had assembled a young talented squad, but Klopp has got them playing & believing. The future is bright.I just can’t wait for the next match.
Randall actually started the move for our first goal with a tasty flick to Allen. If it wasn’t for a shaky start, it would be some performance…
yeah…saw that flip…quite a confident move to do such flip inside own defensive half..
So excited about last night… Still buzzing, but look at this:
Mignolet
Flanagan
Sakho
Gomes/Toure
Clyne
Henderson
Milner
Coutinho
Firmino
Inge
Benteke
The team that didn’t play!!!
In Jurgen we trust
and our boys on loan too…Marcovic, Balo(oops :), Wisdom, Youngsters…
this is what world class manager can do…wow..
Startling when you put like that Mike,
Tasty match at training that.
and StevieG in training to tackle :)
