ROBERT GUTMANN is joined by Joe Connolly, Andy Hudson, Craig Hannan and Jay McKenna for second part of an ‘Unwrapped’ Special looking into the atmosphere at Anfield.
This week the younger guns discuss the changing face of Anfield and LFC fan culture in the 21st century.
Everything was set. We had a new manger. We wanted to show him what he had got involved with. He took us to Chelsea, he did his bit. Fans on a high. New dawn. Next game at Anfield is against Palace. Possibly loudest fans in the league. They’re come and sing and play and sing. Perfect. Exciting. Saturday is going to be electric. Let’s show Klopp and the rest of the world what it’s all about.
Fucking strange, morgue like atmosphere from 10 minutes before kick off to 10 minutes before full time, when everyone stopped whinging and left.
There were no obstacles – what the fuck happened?!?
Surely once you’re on that Kop with the fans where the culture was created, it’s irrelevant who owns the club or what their policies are. Always was. Always is.
Brilliant show. Something needs to be done and it needs to be soon!!!
Well played Rob. The two shows were brilliant, think Joe Connolly’s views were particularly interesting.
I’ve been suggesting for some time that the club should set aside approx 200 seat section, perhaps near the Annie rd end, for u25s at a reduced rate where lads can sit where they want hence they can sit with mates.
These tickets would only go on sale the evening before a game and you would need ID to prove you’re u25 to buy one. You’re addressing several issues there in one action.
Your contributors are right, the club in its current incarnation just do not appreciate the fans. I would have loved to hear their reaction when the Spion Kop flag was pointed out to them on their own bottle of water?
Brilliant that.
