GARETH Roberts is late to the leaving early debate but with it topping media agendas all week it’s perfect Back Page beef. Joining Robbo are Rob Gutmann, Mike Nevin and Andy Heaton.
Also features the colour purple.

A key issue triggered by, as you rightly highlight, a cultural issue or more pertinently relative to BD. There’s no debate that the atmosphere has been awful and it is worse to compare 13-14 as that only further exacerbates the point. Maybe we just need to change definition from supporters to spectators.
I would say this -Saturday afternoons in the 80’s was equivalent but primarily because we simply didn’t lose. I always secretly wished opposition to score first however tempered by my first game at Anfield we lost to Wolves 1-0 ;)
Yet to listen but stellar line-up!
Great point on the feeling of a supporter perhaps feeling like a customer than a fan.
I’m from Sydney Australia and support a local team called the western Sydney wanderers and even though the club is only 3 years old the club has a had some great success. In saying that, WSW has had some tough times but the fans and in particular the main supporters group called the RBB has gone to every game and supported by singing and chanting all game. This I believe is the connection with the players and club. The club has come out time and time again and have backed the fans cause the club recognises these fans play a major part in the clubs success. So much so season tickets and match day ticket prices are kept as low as possible to enhance the match day experience. Probably the most integral part is the fans bought into the idea of bringing the western Sydney heartland together as one and are finally represented by there own team. Maybe LFC can work on the relationship with fans and enhance the matchday experience so the fans are more positive and have a reason to stay?
Fuckin quality show!!! Keep this group of lads together for the next one…
Great insight, great discussion and hilarious!!!
Loved the points that got brought out today reference treatment of the fans or should I say customers.
Even Steven Gerard left early to beat Trafic. When it comes to 85 mins you have to ask yourself is it really worth the mad rush at the end plus an hour stuck in Trafic
Players will come at the end and give us a 30 second clap then get themselves down the tunnel as quick as possible couldn’t they do more
Once the game is finished you are herded out the stadium with no exception from the Stuards
This happened to myself and my 10 year old son when we tried to wait until all the mass crowd had left but a stuard was having non of it and insist we leave with the masses
Pretty scary for a child
The club should do more
Just to make a point about Mike mentioning the quality of Klopp’s English. Is Pochettino’s that much better?
