hahaha – love the pens commentary and celebrations! hahaha
Heh fellas what about Bogdan who was clearly MOM tonight!? And true to form recently there’s plenty (even on TAW) who should be swallowing their own shite coz the Lad has shamefully been prejudged and deemed as unworthy of our Club before even getting a game. And as Jay said I thinks we all need to press the reset button not just the Manager. HONESTLY when did this acidity and corrosive vitriolic attitude impose itself within the club’s supporters?
Also imo the generic status of the Prem League, and I stress this is not aimed at us as we’ve been in a state of eternal transition for 18 months, however the type of football being served up is indemic and void of quality or skill, and is why we are seeing English clubs fair so poorly in Europe. The standard of the top flight has been dragged down a level or 2 and we are in effect watching a 2nd tier type of game being played in the top flight. The proof is in the eating with the unusually high number of promoted avoiding immediate relegation. I will always give credit wher it is due, and this new breed of smaller elite level club is dictating the style and bringing in the high press game, or way back when it used to be called kick and run football.
That said I’m not criticising the Reds, to the contrary, let’s get it righ, tonight we beat a well organised kick & run side who happen to be in the EPL , and we achieved it with our reserve side which really fills me with joy and the young lads who were drafted in tonight should really be proud of themselves as they ALL played their part and performed exceptionally well. And they managed to keep a clean sheet. WOO HOO WTF!!!
If anything 1 or 2 of the so called experienced pros were a bit underwhelming. I really hope JK recalls Llori Markovic and Wisdom and brings them into the fold. As much as I admire Toure he has has his day and it’s time to blood young new defensive talent which clearly we have on our books and will naturally play a part in the development of this squad.
YNWA. Keep The Faith
Origi is a winger for me. That’s where he played at Lille and that’s what he’s shown me so far. When he gets it and runs he doesn’t go down the middle he always goes to the wing. A couple of times tonight he had it and Teixeira was wide and he just ran at Teixeira leaving nobody in the middle and 2 next to each other on the wing. A striker would lay it off and get in the box.
Also quite a few times he stood on the wing when we had it in and around the box when when a striker should be in the box looking to get on the end of something. Unfortunately though, due to the injuries we are going to have to persist with playing him up top on his bill.
That’s what scouts and coaches are for. To identify and develop a player into something they possible weren’t when first aquired
