Appreciate the time and effort @ TAW. Great show!
I couldn’t agree more with Paul J. Mere looked tired, unwilling to defend, selfish, and a shadow of himself. I could accept this if he was a poor player, but it’s the fact that we know how good he can be, that he looked like rubbish today.
Emre, not Mere. Need to update the autocorrect
Hard to be tired and unwilling to defend. Being tired might be the reason for struggling to defend as a CM.
Great Discussion guys. Just would like to give my thoughts. The confidence of our players is very low. Not to pick on Rodgers but ever since that run of poor results from march mental state of our players has weakened.
Once opposition scores the heads drop and this feeling has gone to fans too. Klopp has to address this. I dont know how he will go on to do it. In press conferences he has said its okay to concede goals. To move forward our players need to get through this mental barrier.
Great show as usual. There are huge issues with the squad, Klopp can raise performance levels by 10% or so but he can’t be a winger and he can’t score or stop goals. We’ll improve once Benteke and Sturridge are fit, but the squad is woefully unbalanced. I wish I had TAW’s confidence with regards to Can and Moreno’s potential for improvement…Moreno is hopelessly rash and one-footed and Can, who looked really exciting at times last season, seems to have gone backwards: great confidence, little end product. Ideally they’d be learning their trade in the cup competitions rather than the first team.
I always resisted slagging Rodgers off, didn’t think it did anyone or the club any favours, but yesterday I feel is a real eye opener regarding his legacy.
I’ve/we’ve known for a long time how low this team is on confidence, but yesterday after we went ahead it really hit home. As far as I was concerned if we didn’t score that match was finishing 0-0, however once we scored I saw and felt the nerves because there was something to hang onto, as a result I was certain they’d score, even though I didn’t think they would at 0-0. Weird ahy?
Aside from a major confidence issue it also hit me the scale of the job Klopp is facing. Let’s face it we’re not that bad a side, definitely punching below our weight and will continue to do so unless some inspiration is found from somewhere. I think players and fans alike are screaming out for a win, even the most scruffiest 1-0 win will do, then we can go from there.
Our last 9 games we’ve won one and drew 8. Out of them 8 drawn, 7 have been drew 1-1. Out of them 7 1-all’s, we have led and lost the lead in 6 of them.
If you’ll forgive the cheap jibe, the results are far from ‘outstanding’ and suggest a team that lacks ‘character’.
I liked Brendan, too, but it was time for a change. Jurgen can’t be blamed for buying this group of players.
