IN this weeks look at the back pages, host Gareth Roberts is joined by sidekick Rob Gutmann, Liverpool Echo’s Neil Docking and handsome Paul Senior to talk about the things real journalists are writing about in the press.
They discuss what the papers have made of Jurgen Klopp so far, what Jurgen Klopp has made of the press attention, and how much a relationship with the media really matters to a modern manager.
All this and more. If it’s in the press, it’s on the show.
I keep writing this but more Neil Docking please. Sounds a great journalist with a great outlook on Liverpool and his profession. Great stuff
Good show interesting points made by all. Have to agree with Rob regarding “the normal one” line its been done to death now. Why do journos still ask the question referencing mourhino over a decade ago?
Where does it end?
Allardyce the rotund one!
Van Gaal the noncey one!
I have asked Henning Wehn to drop Klopp a line with the benefit of his British Press experience. If he reads it. Can’t hurt. And he used to work at a League Club when he first moved to UK from Germany in 2002.
Great show guys,
Was fascinated by Gareths insight into the nastiness towards Rafa in his press conferences,
Rafas tenure is looking more amazing by the day,
Fingers crossed Jurgen leaves a similar stamp.
Great show lads loving all the content. A point however; while I agree with you that a lot of journos are full of shit (Winter, Hayward et al) I would defend Daniel Taylor. I personally think the tone he takes has a lot to do with the contrarian or more measured editorial approach the Guardian takes as a whole. I concede this could be misconstrued as bias but I find his writing is the same across all of the big clubs
