I find the treatment of Texeira this season baffling. He had a really good season out on loan last year before he broke his leg. He worked hard and bounced back from a serious injury and again looked good in pre season. He’s 22 now and clearly too good for the reserves but we didn’t include him in the Europa league or league cup squads. Just strange!
He could have easily played against Bordeaux, Carlisle and Sion tonight with more cup matches coming up. If he impressed he could have made the bench for league games and got further game time especially in the formation we’re playing at the min. For me he’s at least on a par with Ibe and better than Rossiter which makes it even stranger that he’s not being used. I’m not sure how it works but hopefully he can be included in the EL squad after the group stages.
